I've been busy the past few nights doing a lot of mainly yard building. The line is now out of the conyon and into the two yards in Golden with KC Junction marking the west end of the route.
I had a lot of problems with track laying in Golden as the decals i've used are from winter with a good covering of snow. The coal holding yard has access roads between each line but on the decals you can only see tyre tracks so the yard looks to have twice as many lines as it should. After staring at blurry aerial photos and you-tube videos i recon i've managed to get every line and switch where it should be.

The big curve where the line swings north heading to the canyon. Field to the right and Golden to the left.

KC Junction at the North end of Golden. Top left is the line to Field. Bottom left is heading to Revelstoke. The right is heading to the coal holding yard and the Windermere sub.

Next is a few shots of the coal holding yard and wagon repair facility. There is also loco fueling and sand available and MOW storage at the yard.

This yard is very long. I've not measured it yet but at a guess it's at least 2 miles end to end.
This is as far west as the line goes for now.
I just need to finish up the track in the yard then head about 50 miles away to continue the track on to Banff.

Thank you. Due to the uneven spacing of the tracks its taken me 3 days to get the yard layed but it's all done now.

Golden coal holding yard. It's so long i struggled to get the whole yard in one shot that would still show the track.

Thanks guys.
Myself, my wife and baby daughter have all had a virus this week so I haven't been near my computer in a while.
Before I got ill I did start putting down some markers and signals around Field. We're all better now so I should have some time over the weekend to get some more track down. I also want to try and experiment with the forests density so that the mountains look nice and covered but don't kill the frame rates too much. Thecanadianrail has given me some settings to get started with so my next shots might actually have some scenery in them.

Wishing you and your family a speedy recovery.

Your progress shots look fantastic, and I've enjoyed watching your project take root.

Best of luck!

I've been playing with the scenery around the siding at Yoho between the spiral tunnels. Enjoy :D
