Well im going to do another allnighter.

I'm looking forward to this cuz Bakersfield to Tehachapi is my favorite route on earth. It's not as pretty as say a Tennessee Pass, Donner Pass or the Feather River route. But my dad and I would go there for a week every summer back in the 70's and early 80's. That's when Santa Fe and Southern Pacific ran there before the mergers. The advantage of single track routes is you never miss a clear view of a train. On double track you can miss clearly seeing the other trains if it''s behind a train passing on the other track. It is after all the busiest single track route in the nation that I know of... so good times!

Santa Fe was known for short trains, but many of them. Southern Pacific was known for long trains, but less of them. SP usually had helpers in the middle and rear. SF usually only had one set of helpers and only if the train was a heavy one. My dad and I used to camp in a tent right near the tracks on RR property at Caliente. That is back when the railroad staff were a lot more laid back. Today they would run us off their property. It was a different era. That's also an era when they used to use more engines (a good thing) on a train due to having 3000hp-3600hp versus today's 4300hp-4400hp behemoths. I'm glad I was around to see those days.

I haven't seen this route on Railworks to my knowledge. So this will be a nostalgic treat. I hope it comes out well and as accurate as possible. Thanks for making it!

The route will be semi-prototypical and based in the late 2011-early 2012
No set release yet but, im shooting for December.
