The new viaduct is in place.

This same river that runs underneath it will expand and will glow to the harbor and out to sea.

Of course, I wouldn't know exactly why the asset block wouldn't work before, sometimes it seems to be touchy.

I still don't fully understand it.

The point of Marc's post was that you implied that Scale Rail was the problem with the asset block, which is highly unlikely and not fair to Marc.

A brand new row boat for the route. Had to make one since there wasn't one default in the game.

First video preview of my Red River 1936 route project. Here we see some of the mountains and a glimpse of what the route will be like once finished.

Tracks are default tracks and trees are default trees.

I've never used the asset blocks, but I seem to recall reading somewhere that it's possible to vary the height (and perhaps the type too) of the trees randomly to give the block a more natural look. You could try it and see if it makes a difference.

So far haven't seen a way to make the trees any taller or shorter, might have to check with Railsimulator.com video tutorials, maybe there's something there about how to do it.

So far what do you think of the route.

Still have a lot more work to do though before it will be ready.

I'm certain there's a way to do it but right now I can't look into it myself.

The route's starting out well so far. I'm keen to see how it progresses. Obviously there's still a long way to go, adding track infrastructure, telegraph poles, stations, signs, log cabins, waterfalls (?), ambient sounds, you name it! I think the key to a route like this is to add plenty of variety and "easter eggs" along the way to make it feel like an adventure when exploring the line. What kind of stations and towns are you planning on building? It would be interesting to compare it with some period photos of similar places, if you can find them, and look carefully at the photos to see what it is that makes it look period in the first place, what is it that creates the atmosphere, and try to recreate that. I'm sure there's a place for your 1930's vehicles too.

P.S. Greetings from not-so-sunny Scotland

Here's what I've been working on for a couple of hours, a sawmill for the route.

This is only the first section, there is still the sheds and the loading platform to build.

Sawmill Part A progress 1.jpg

In the route there will probably be three towns and two stops for either wood or coal.

That's exactly the sort of thing I meant :) It'll be nice to see it textured and in-game.

The sawmill is almost complete, very soon I'll be putting it into the game.
