I have a quick question related to this route, i found a video and some pictures from a decade ago of a Swietelsky Babcock Rail Plasser & Theurer DR 73941 and a DR73916 Plasser & Theurer Tamper (pictures below)

i found a similar one in a yellow german livery on the ukts site but its not the same and its also on msts if i remember right, does anyone know if one exists for railworks?

AFAIK, besides the Liebherr rail crane with lorries from SAD and a small motor car (people carrier) from the IoW route there is no driveable self propelled MoW equipment/machinery available.
A static model of one of those tampers is already quite a challenge due to the tongs and tamper forks and what else.
A working model with animation is quite something different.

I for one would also like a train that transports continuously welded rail that bends and flexes when going through curves and switches.

Bit of a long-shot question but does anyone know if there is a traffic round-about asset in existence? Had a look on ukts but no joys

I am currently pondering a decision and wondered if some route creators had any input they could give me.

Im trying to keep the payware assets to a bare minimum whilst creating this route, While trying to keep to as many freeware assets as possible such as all the ukts freeware packs and many other solo assets, I do have the Phorum Penninsula and Isle of Wight packs involved for some of their assets vital to the Angus route.

Do I consider adding one more payware pack just so i can have the asset availability to try match buildings and bridges like for like, if so which pack would anyone recommend i should use?
Or shall I make do with what I have thus widening the available amount of people who can play and enjoy the route?

If I were to add another pack then I have these to choose from.

WCML, Granfield branch, Edinburgh Glasgow, Glasgow airport, Portsmouth direct, Settle - Carlisle, Woodhead, london - brighton
ECML york - peterbourgh (creative rail)
SECML, Bristol - Exeter, Bristol - Avonmouth, Darlington - Bishop Auckland, newcastle - york modern

I realise some of these packs will include some legacy stock from the original routes but one of these packs is bound to have some extra few items that I might find handy

Assets I would prioritize would be a wide range of Stone arch bridges, that would have to be my top requirement just now as i have bridges placed where they are supposed to be but its a mish mash of different ones just now until i can find some with a better likeness to whats on the ground.

WIP (update)
All Track has been updated with correct signalling and speed limits, aws to follow shortly.

Kerr's miniture railway line corrected, now its accurate, Requiring 2 very tiny rail sheds for a 2.3 gauge setup and some other items i may need help with, link here shows the rolling stock in miniture,
http://www.kerrsminiaturerailway.co.uk/locomotives.html

Processed decals for adding in what's left of the mighty Caledonian Railway, Brechin to Bridge of Dun line, its not too far (just across the bay) from Montrose and thought it would be a nice addition for the steam fans.

Thought I'd update this - The route is still ongoing, Sorry I haven't been on these forums much, lost my job then had computer problems then lady left me then more computer problems then poor health - Such is life though.
The idea has now expanded to Dundee and Aberdeen with the option to expand afterwards. I had put the route on hold while I sorted out my life a bit but now I'm focusing on it again. Sorry for the huge delays but I hope you can all understand :)

Hahaha - Either that or some weird form of Tai-chi.

All latest pictures updates are on this Facebook group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/CaledonianRailworks/

Loads of new pics in there as I decided to have a quiet weekend and get something constructive done. I'm getting properly back into it - I was focusing too much on trying to figure out the whole 3dsmax thing but shall try that again at a later date. I currently have about 40 models of buildings and structures donated, courtesy of the internet, *!!wink!!* I'm needing to try get those imported at some stage or another. Had 3dcrafter/canvas (a paid for copy) butt it broke down and wont work again even after a windows re-install and I've heard Blender is uber complicated.
