Just had a brilliant idea. I'll write the scenarios in old Southern drawl. "Go git in that injin o'yonder an drive it rown ever'where". I'm serious. Think of the emersion.

Either drop the o' in front of yonder or spell out over. I don't believe I've ever heard any southerner saying o'yonder. Generally the over part is left off completely. *!greengrin!*

That is just how the crew of 729 talks. Hahaha.

I've got three choices...

1: Study the phonology online.

2: Get one of you guys from NC to translate for me.

3: Travel to NC and emerse myself in the culture for several years until I am phonetically assimilated.

I like option three. Expensive but.

Can you share that rough trackrule? The track in Apex is just like that, 729 is always rockin as it comes down the siding.

It's not a trackrule. It's the way I lay it. In that pic I've laid a section 1 meter at 0% gradient, 7.5m @ 0.5%, 1m @ 0%, 7.5m @ -0.5%, 7.5m @ 0.5% and repeat. When doing it on an existing gradient I just adjust the figures by the original gradient. I also add a few side to side segments by selecting "Yard" and pulling the radius up tight and placing about 2.5m one way then the other.

Generally I set the cab sway to only about 20-35% because the track itself does alot of the work. Infact it simulates nice SLOW lurching sways that the built in cab sway doesn't.

Still wanna do it? *!lol!* It's actually not as time consuming as you'd think. You just keep a rough mathmatical sequence in your head and start laying keeping reasonably close to the formula. There are loads of different variations you can come up with.

The thing that sets it off and accentuates the kinks is the fishplates. You can get them at rail-sim.de in a package by the legendary SAD:

Scenario_objects_liebherr900_Pack_non_KoblitzerBergland_users.rwp

You can lay track MUCH rougher than in that pic without getting that sudden jump or drop in the cab that we so often see on RSC routes just by placing a 1m transitional section between the two gradients. I've done up to 0% - 3% with a 1m in between at 1.5% and driven over it at different speeds and the result was the loco whilst it did pop up suddenly, did it smoothly like it had functional suspension.

I'll give you a copy of the CCR with just the complete trackage (and what scenery I've placed so far) so you can see the results (and while you're there you could Beta test it for me?). Trust me, I know it seems over the top, but when you drive a loco around on this stuff it's totally worth the effort.

Wow, thanks! I'd love to beta for you, seeing as I live in NC I can hopefully offer some advice on the area, I've been up to the mountains a few times. I'll try the system with the track on my A Line route, I'll let you know how it works out! :)

Yep mine too. The only one worth buying if you ask me. You'll need it for track rule and a little scenery.

So how do I go about packaging the route and getting it to you guys?

Firstly, does RWTools create a list of assets used?

What's the best way to package the route?

Where do I upload it to?

Once you guys have the bulk of it, can I just email you individual .bin files as I discover new track laying tricks and techniques?

first make sure everything is aliased correctly - i had some issues with that, ie terrain textures, environment files, etc
id also remove any scenarios, and make one with a default rolling stock to get started
RW tools will find the assets
you can package through RW Tools or the packager in RW
