Just a quick update to let everyone know I'm still making progress on the route. Here are a few screen shots on the Library branch starting at Library Jct. and ending at the B&O interchage yard in Snowden.

Looks awesome, besides these ugly default tracks. Why don't you use Scalerail?

Scale rail would not be appropriate for the Montour. The Montour was a coal hauling short line in Southwestern PA that suffered from years of deferred maintenance *!sad!* The Montour's tracks looked more like the branchline tracks I'm using. Here is an example of what the Montour tracks looked like during the last two decades of it's existence :D

The only thing we don't have yet is the hoppers rocking back and forth on those 39' sections of jointed rail, but RSC is working on that *!lol!*

Rich,
I remembered that section of track. If you look at the background of the picture you will see a brown trail going to the right side of the picture, I walked that many times. My friends house is right up top of the hill.
I remembered walking those tracks as a kid and wondering if we would ever see a train. That only happened once at jewel.

That's some nasty track! Looks like 5 or 10 MPH stuff.

A first look at the Champion Prep Plant located just out side McDonald, PA.

A very special thank you to Michael Stephan for creating the main washer building at the Champion Prep-Plant and the associated conveyor belts !*cheers*!

One more shot, more of a what if the Montour would have purchased Challengers during the WWII era?

Here is a little side project I've been working on....

Image

These units once served on the Montour when the P&LE retired the SW9's. This is my first attempt at repainting in RW2 and although the units are not perfect, so far so good :D

A Update....

The SW9's have all been retired and now the work is preformed by the parent companies SW1500

Unfortunately the arrival of the SW1500's marked the beginning of the end for the Montour and in just a few short years the last mine would closed, leaving the Montour without any online customers or connections.

A sad end to the line, but your recreation of it is impressive.
