Isn't the last two photos Ac Units? Ac Units have the AC Motors on the roof.

Oh only I'm blind right now.

Ok so I guess they are on the right track. I though all the DC units were converted to AC Units. I need to caught up on my reading.

Nope, not all. :)

While posting, let's go down memory lane to the two units Amtrak tested when looking for a new engine.

French CC 21000 Class / Amtrak # X996

Image

And right behind it the Swedish Rc4 Amtrak X995 which ultimately became the basis for the AEM-7

Image

That French thing was AWFUL.. It looks better suited to pull freight. *!lol!*

I have to say I like that Rc4 in the Phase III paint. To bad the AEM-7's don't have those porthole windows.

My name is Phil and I have the pleasure of being one of the new artists at RS.com. This is my first time on a Rail forum so be nice. *!lol!* This is also my first American locomative build and I am keen to get it right. My first task is to build the trucks for the AEM-7 I have some pictures but none that show any real detail.

If anyone can help with any details I would be grateful.

Hi stembuzz, thanks for the image. But unfortunately there isn't enough detail. If I do blow the picture up it will blur heavily.

I'm really thankful for your efforts though.

I searched a bit on Google, here's what I've found:

Trucks: http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?4,512621 (unfortunately you have to be a memeber to increase the size *!sad!* )

That is where I got my source. I hope those diagrams are helpful to you. I also recommending looking at MSTS and NALW's AEM-7s. They have them spot on. It makes things a easier if you look at designs from other games.

Also before I forget Did you ask Adam about the .pdf documents I sent? It may have some clues in it to the trucks. I know they have the Pantos.

No problem post more often and I'm sure we here at RWA can put our minds together and help out.

Hey I did something random and remembered a site that had blueprints. I need someone's help going though them:

http://www.the-blueprints.com/blueprints/trains/

http://www.the-blueprints.com/blueprint ... trak_aem7/

As close as you are going to get.
