In my humble opinion, that color scheme looked better in my mind. Once I got it on the screen it looks a little weird. !*don-know!*
Should I make it darker, lighter, change the color all together, or just leave it?

Maybe the blue a bit darker. Cream and sky blue don't really go together from that picture.

GERUNIMO625 wrote:Also, ignore the road numbers. I haven't changed them yet. I've found (in what few pictures exist) this picture with the 500 leading and another picture with a 527 leading. So I'll make a smattering of randomly numbered cars from 500 to 550. Sound good?

500-550 sounds great, But the numbers are in the four-digit range so either 0 or 1 would have to be used as a place marker IIRC.

IM LIKING IT!

Howdy all!

After a night of digging into the depths of the internet Mr. Hamilton and I found proof that the Puget Sound Cars were indeed green.
So off I went to the car barn with my green paint brush in hand!

Still have yet to knock out the trailing cars, as those seemed to have different paint. Then its on to the Illinois Terminal!

I think I'm taking a break from obscure railroads for a bit. No more Belly Button Lint Lines or East Jesus and Westerns for me, for awhile!

Have a nice day!

The cars always had arch windows, and in fact they also had arch windows along the sides at one time. What changed was the clerestory roof to an arch roof as you see on 277 there. For illustration, here's a car as built:

http://newdavesrailpix.com/it/htm/usr_h ... en_093.htm

And here is a sister car as rebuilt:

http://newdavesrailpix.com/it/htm/usr_h ... en_092.htm

It does appear that the IT cars when rebuilt with the arch roof were green with gold leaf trim at one time, though for the most part the arch windows on the sides of the cars were blanked out by the time they were orange. Maroon or Black roof is appropriate.

Hope this helps,
Zach

Thanks for the blessing! Also, thanks for the insight/history lesson into a piece of railroading I had no idea existed.

Howdy Folks,

Now starts my least favorite part of this process, packing them up and uploading them. !*not-ok*!
Honestly it couldn't be any easier, I just hate doing it.

Found these the other day, very similar design to the SN car. Can't resist painting them!

Happy New Year!
