Any chance of a steam engine building tutorial by you? Realistic spoked wheels, drive gear and its animation etc. etc.
Still sitting on that abandoned MSTS C&O H8 "Alleghany" 2-6-6-6 articulated.
Base model is available for finishing but will need some serious reworking to match the level of detail we've come to expect in Railworks.
Thank you

I've been asked several times if I'd do a tutorial. I have thought about it. The thing is, the way I do things is difficult to explain even with pictures. I might try doing some tutorial videos instead. I'm not sure I really want to be heard talking though

(I hate the sound of my own voice).
The wheels were the very first thing I did, and they did set the tone for the rest of the model. I wanted them to be as smooth and realistic as possible, but I didn't get them the way I wanted them until much later, when I found a way to texture them that gave highlights and shadow on the spokes. To get a top quality model, you need to master both ... modelling and texturing (and you have to be a dab hand with Photoshop layering and effects) ... and then the animations and sounds are the icing on the cake.
