American Steam - Your waiting to get them and I am DYING to see what you guys will do with these. There will be more, right now we have 8 - 40 footers that are probably about 24hrs away from release. Once I adjust the remaining 3 cars, I will try to squeeze in a few more.

Here are 2 from last night that got the love. Big difference from when I posted them a week ago. This is my 6th week of repainting.

I have done basic weathering before ... but it was in HO scale. I remember taking Floquil Rust on a tissue and gently rubbing the panels and rivets, but like I'm doing with the smudge tool in Gimp. I NEVER thought, or imagined that this would apply here. Oh and I was like 17 years old when I did that.

For the curious here is the difference between the basic Kuju skin you see everywhere and the more subtle matte version.

Last up is Rudi. Rudi I'm not sucking up to you. This is straight up true- You build these 44 tonners that were just so darn specific in time and place. They are simple, they are subtle and I love them. YOUR work ... you you you ... Inspired me to do Harlem Station and in turn these cars. That's how this stuff works - this is the 'community' that's here at RWA. I really appreciate ALL of you. Taking a little time to read, write and run the Bergen and coming together right here.

Wow! Thanks Minerman, I really appreciate that; although now that my head has grown three sizes, I'm going to need to buy a bigger hat! But seriously, I'm glad the paintwork has had such an impact; it really makes it all worth-while. You've done some excellent brush-work with these freight cars, and they compliment the route seamlessly. Nicely done! !!*ok*!! !*salute*!

Oh heck - I'll do it then. Here is Ann from the film The Train Robbers from 1973. So, we got "train" and correct era and 'hubba hubba". And Rudi gets a hat!

I dont have fresh pictures as I am at work. I want to reveal the game plan for repaints.

1. Another 5 of the Forty Footers, based on common Roads seen on the New York Division
2. Rework (again) my 2 Fifty Footers and expand this offering to include more "DF" models that I saw
3. 100 Ton Hoppers in EL and Erie
4. 50 Ton Hopper in Erie
5. Covered Hooper in EL Erie CO, BO, NW, LNE (maybe)
6. Cylindrical Hopper in EL, BO and CN/CP
7. Bulkhead Car in D&H, CN and CP
8. Im missing a Reefer and need to reach out to MainLines, cuz his is perfect.
*im typing on my notes here!

If anyone has both the talent and inclination to actually build a model for me. Because its both unique and ubiquitous, the "Dunmore" Caboose would be a hoot!
Or you can teach me how to model - So if this looks like fun to you, reach out to me, I am a very good researcher!

Hi MM !
These repaints are very, very beautiful **!!bow!!** - I can not wait any longer for you publish these.

I have a plan: To create quickdrives with AI traffic with these repaints.
Last year I have made a set of scripts which create lots of consists with randomized wagons. I talk about more than 100 different consists. This amount you cannot do by hand, not via texteditor, nor via BPE.
The only thing is that I do not hope that this large number has to do with my problem here: viewtopic.php?f=77&t=20357&start=105#p243146
I do not hope, as in one scenario you see normally only between 15 to 30 different trains.
But anyway, when I know how many consists the TS can handle there is no reason why to create some variety.
Another aspect:
Your quickdrives are good for the workshop as you are dependent on existing consists. And for this they are really perfect!
Whenever you want to have AI traffic or something randomized you need consists in a folder Provider/Product/PreLoad/, unfortunately this is not possible with only the workshop. Quickdrives only relying on spawned traffic and without consists are like the extinct QDs from DTG - you drive alone.
So I see two solutions:
- Offer these quickdrives only here on RWA
or
- enhance some of you longer quickdrives with spawnmarkers so you see AI traffic when you have installed the consists and the repaints.

Kris - I do like your plan. We already have AI consist running courtesy of Overshoe so I understand the concept.

Please note the following regarding the repaints.
1. The numbering is either 100% accurate or very close
2. My numbering range is proportional to what I think their frequency was.
3. Number examples: EL 100 unique numbers, DH 40, CO-30, NW 30, NIRX is 20, cabooses are 11 of 2 types and 1 of one type.

I was wondering if my limiting the numbers would be a problem. Please advise if it is and suggest a larger number and/or what a minimum should be. Note, I do think 1000 is ridiculous and I did go to the trouble of getting somewhat correct numbers.

If you want to build a QD like this and we both think its great … I have NO ISSUE posting it to Steam. The QD still works even if they don't have the prefetch and I always put a note of explanation and links for my users. On the other hand NO ONE EVER SAYS ANYTHING about them, if they work or not, so what do I know?

Regarding the Repaints - I didn't mention my mentor by name, but soon you will find out when my repaints come out. This will be in 24 hours. But I have to say I really cant thank my mentor enough the opportunity and his faith in my ability and perseverance. I have put in CRAZY time learning repaints! !**duh*!!

As previously mentioned we at Minerman Labs are cooking up our new creations continuously. While we have our issues, we are still working on getting the package of 40 footers ready to ship out the door. This morning my instructions were for SELF EXTRACTING FILES.

This appears to be SELF IMMOLATING FILES

Looks like this box car will not make it into the pack.

Such.a.shame.

Oh my english !
Perhaps amount is the right word, my use of "number" has nothing to do with the numbers, neither statical or dynamic on the wagons.

The main problem ist that not any of the consists created may have an error (e.g. missing rolling stock) otherwise the TS reacts very sensistive.
So a lot of discipline is necessary. It is possible to use a lot of consists - thanks 64bit !
And as you don't know what rolling stock a player has installed on his computer, we need a script that checks what is installed. What I have is a working version for Hagen-Siegen 3.x (not this ugly old one, a nice one which is freeware). With this concept I have I think it is possible to create someting on a new level of variation.

Kris, ( I am going to take the difficult post here first)
I will preface my response so that you may understand my state of mind. I had and early dinner this evening at the local German Restaurant. This consisted of:
1. Pickled Herring
2. Rye Bread
3. 750 ml Spaten
4 Smoked Trout
5. 750 ml Spaten
6. Veal Shank, Red Cabbage and Spaetzel
7. Appertif - Peppermint Schnapps

Now I understand what you were talking about.

if you have control over what assets are in game, in the sense they are constant from player to player THEN having AI will work effectively. This relates to me, in that if my pack was large enough, you could use this pack and additional packs to run in you AI routine. Right now, there are so many values to track from many different re-painters and DLC that its too complex.

Most important is what I know the models I am working on are only 1024 X 1024. At 64 bits - we would need to find out what the upper limit is for the quantity of vehicles present in game per KM. I have run 40 of these repaints and 2 diesels in the QD out of Croxton on my base line machine, FPS is between 16 and 23 which is what it usually is. ( This is my business class build machine I have been using for 5 years to build and test the route) I keep this constant on purpose , it is still Windows 7 pro.

Of course you are a smart man and see what I am consolidating packs to work for the Bergen to simplify scenarios and look great at the same time! Which is what made you post!

NYWhiskey would be proud of me!

Buzz - I think honored doesnt have the weight of a proper response. I will put it this way. I am shocked over the upbeat response, recognition, well-wishing and all that. You know? Were doing something here -hard to find the right words.

Listen, thank you, it means alot.
