Thanks NS for the shots ... you didn't quite make it past Hawthorne before your crash. I definitely recommend deleting the route and reloaded. The Track from Allendale to Ridgewood was completely removed, realigned, re-graded and re-laid. Workshop does not like it when I do that.

The Twitch feed was fun - it would be nice to have a microphone to talk while doing that. Not many questions were asked, however, as usual, I was very chatty about the Bergen.

I was enjoying the route too much to ask questions. I did get the new version to load after I moved the Twitch stream to the laptop. What I saw last night was really nice. I'll get at a longer run this weekend. Now I need to get all my E-L repaints reinstalled.

Overshoe, I agree, the QD went exactly as designed. Everthing was working, like it should, while all of you were watching to route builder on his own route. Pressure! *!greengrin!*

The scenery was looking very good, the best part for me was driving around croxton, soaking up the details and grabbing that string of cars. I so rarely play the route, it always drive and test.

Don't worry, it wasn't the route's fault! My laptop battery was getting low and the warning window that came up froze the game. I was shocked to see how different it was at WJ where the Main and Bergen come back together. Very smooth transition through there! I did encounter some ghost cars on the Ramsey Building & Paver Supply siding. Saw them on the 2D map, but nothing in game on the siding.

I will try QD from Patterson and back

I have it loaded in Sherman Hill's folder, it is impossible (as far as I know) to upload into workshop. If someone knows how to and can instruct me to get my route markers in - please let me know. And for everyone to understand - prior to April 2014, I never played TS, my son did. Then I started building the Bergen and have been doing nothing but working on the route for the past 2 and a half years. So, there is much I don't know from a player's perspective - or even about the game. All I know ... is the Bergen!

Now that you say it, I remember hearing some whistles and bells about the subject related with workshop. **!!bang!!**

NSTrains - you are the man!
I was shocked to see how different it was at WJ where the Main and Bergen come back together. Very smooth transition through there!

Bingo - mission accomplished.

These elevations take some serious time, research, guesswork, artistry and some dumb luck to get right. On occasion, when my track map tells me to run an .85 grade from Ridgewood station and google Earth tells me the elevation is 164 foot above sea - level at the bottom of that hill and I run 5-6 thousand feet of track AND it lands on the 164 foot elevation - then I know I got it. It doesn't always work that way, but when it does, I know I got my elevations and grades very close. The change at Ridgewood is dramatic. Last week you had a 1.5 percent grade at WJ now its a smooth .9 from 500 feet before the intersection of the BCL and Main line to roughly 500 foot before the east end of Ridgewood Platform.

Don't get me wrong ... I am not trying to be perfect - I never will be able to get it perfect. But close, close where you guys recognize its very close? That I will take and be very pleased. So, I try, I relay and measure again and then use the old Mk1A eyeball looking down the rail with the view zoomed all the way. I ask myself "does this look believable"? Many times its yes, some times its "this is as good as I can get it without messing up other track" and once in a while its "oh my gosh, I have reverse engineered the darn railroad"

I'm glad you noticed. Thanks as always!

I set a Free Roam run from Patterson area to beyond Allendale. I just used the map to place the marker in the starting point.
I did not find any issue with speed limits (northbound and starting from track 1).

But concerning to the signals I found two yellows. The first one (yellow over red) near Glen Rock, the second in Hollywood Ave 3 (double yellow).
What is important to consider here, is that there wasn´t any other train in the blocks ahead that caused those yellow lights. I have no idea of what could make those lights behave like that, specially that double yellow. But in the other empty tracks the lights are red-red when should be green-red
In Allendale I got a red-red signal in my track which I had to ask permission with Tab.
Other signals behaved the right way.

The train is a a KCS long loaded coal train lead by NS.
Here a few shots of the run:

See that red in the empty track in the last shot? It should be green, because it has no traffic.

Jalsina!
You did hit the spots I wanted to be shot at Ho-Ho-Kus. You went down low to catch the Super-EL - awesome! So, I think I have the track speed thing fixed as well as the divergence. In my free roams I did get yellow over red prior to entering WJ interlocking - I am calling that good enough for the time being. The yellow over yellow at Broadway on track 3, I did not see. Were you routing into Waldwick Yard? That may be a warn for the 15mph divergence to get into the yard. Or, its something else.

I don't know if you will or others will notice, but the signals are working better on the whole line ( I haven't checked Hoboken - that is a whole other ball of wax).

Thank you for the inspection and your insight and help with the speed limits. Your efforts have made the route better! !*cheers*!

Lastly, for some fun take two NS Locos down to the Croxton - Suffern QD - its a worthy freight run!

EDIT* The Red at Allendale means there is a track break between that and the next signal. It will show green your are going in that direction. We have been fighting breaks in the rails for a long time. The breaks occur when I am laying double track and using the snap to track function to join a curve to a straight. Sometimes I find them some times I don't. But other times they impede the dispatcher - then I have to relay the track, usually a half dozen times to correct. * this is the problem in Hoboken.
EDIT EDIT * I noticed you stated you had to get permission at Allendale to pass - I am checking this now. 2038hrs eastern

The answer to the yard is no and yes. At the time I was crossing Hollywood Ave, I had not yet changed the switches. But later on I changed some switches to divert into the yard in order to test the low speed limit there (which did work).
I will do another run starting in the second track and later going southbound.

I am replicating the run along track three:
Hollywood Ave is Green for me
20161217210830_1.jpg

Allendale was Green as well
20161217211207_1.jpg

This is great we're testing at the same time.
I did find a section of super el that was not set to super elevate on the curve before Allendale - this caused a bit of a bump
That is now fixed

What track did you start in Patterson?
BTW, I noticed a bump. It may be the same.

In the first pic your light is red, no green. In the second it would seem I ran along the other track (not sure though)
