Hi guys, just checking in since it has been a while since I've been on here. All the models are just about good to go but have been put on a back burner due to a new baby and other obligations. My main sticking point is still taking them from Maya to RW. So if anyone would like to work with me and be a go-between to import the models in game then its a definite possibility. I honestly don't have time to keep fooling with Blender or any other program, in order to import. I haven't even had a chance to try the new version of RW. !*don-know!*

Best Regards,
Jim

Jim! Glad you're still working on these, the U-Boats are something I've been wanting forever! Good luck and congrats with your new baby, and take your time, no one's in that much of a need for the models right now. As long as you keep gradually working on them, I'm sure all will go well.

Congrats Jim,

I am expecting dad soon as well. May 6th 2012 ish. !*YAAA*!

Are you able to get the models into 3dsmax from maya? presumably if you can then its should be a breeze to get it in from there. I was able to get my King st station in which has 80,000 faces, Ive pretty much done it all when it comes to challenging models and getting them into the game. Station needed 20+ child objects. So If you can get me the 3ds file I can give it a go. Some extensive blueprint work would have to be done as well which I wouldnt mind doing. Sounds would also be needed if you have them. otherwise aliasing to the chinese GE may be wise.

If i get it in I will give you the source file, BPs and 3dsmax file back so you can tweak it to how you want it.

congrats again!

Ian

Ian - Maybe you should consider deleting your email address from your post and sending it to him via PM, unless of course you like getting spam mail. *!!wink!!*

When the time is right I have a complete sound set for this loco. I'll gladly do the sound set for this gem. I was going to use the sound set on a ES, but I'll wait to hear from you first. The sounds will be perfect.

@Douglas mrs - no updates on any of these projects as of yet. If you follow my wood chip thread, those are my current projects and a test bed for getting rolling stock in game. After the chip hoppers, the next piece in line will be the wood rack. I have one other piece of rolling stock I want to finish up then back to the U18B. I actually revisited that model the other week but after shelving it for so long, I've noticed several issues I want to correct on it. Taking a step away and coming back to a project always tends to open my eyes to issues I missed or things I want to change. Many times I find myself asking "what was I thinking when I did that?" *!rolleyes!*

@Krellnut - thanks! Sounds would be absolutely awesome as I just don't have the time or knowledge to work on that aspect. It wouldn't be a U18B without that distinct burble sound!

Nice job on the U Boats! Brings back great memories of them 'chugging' over the diamond at the SCL station in West Palm back in their day. :D
