That prompts a question: is there a way to find workshop scenarios by route? If so, how? I don't want to sift through every workshop scenario for every route I have trying to find the ones for this route.

Super simple. Search "Bergen" and sort by most recent. I could see the 6 that I'm aware of.

I tried that. I typed "Bergen" (without the quotes) in the search window and hit Enter - I get a list of everything.

Use the search engine in Steam, Community, Workshop not that within the game. The workshop within the game relates to what you have already subscribed to.

That worked, but it seems that I don't have everything I need to run any of them. Are there any workshop or other scenarios out there that don't require still more add-ons?

It also seems that the sim thinks I don't own some things that I already do. It's frustrating to say the least. I don't mind running quick drive scenarios sometimes but I'm looking for more than that. I tried running a couple scenarios that did not seem to require any other add-ons, only to find that I am missing equipment.

Maybe I just need to write my own? Any suggestions where to start? Maybe go through the operations manual that Minerman so nicely provided?

From the Operations Manual the number of cars required to service the industries can be identified. From this the inbound and outbound can be worked out bearing in mind that not all will be serviced on the same days. Thus scenarios for each area can be worked out. Doing your own scenarios permits you to choose the stock and locomotives from your assets. I recommend you obtain the Minerman Erie stock from the Golden Age site and the DTM SW1200 ( which is DRGW) plus the Erie repaints from the RWA library also the Diesel Works Erie RS3 bundle (about $15) which can be on the road or switching.

Can you post links to those sites you mentioned? RWA I know, and the others I have heard of, but I don't know the URLs.

Is there a map of the route available? It need not be too detailed but one that shows the major points would be most helpful.

Thanks!

He means my workshop page. I have links in the description for the maps and my discussions contain the ops manual, quick drive descriptions and other stuff. I anticipated these questions!

All I ask is that everyone harass DTG with " Where is the Erie Lackawanna DLC already. Then make fun of thier current fixation on Maryland. Seriously..they got a thing with that state.

And everyone knows what tomorrow is...right?

Carry on.

Back for another amazing installment of the Wednesday Route Report and Update Status for this Friday, September 10th, 2021.

Looking back at the 100 plus route update status reports, I have to say I was under a bit of self imposed pressure to get this thing over the top. I would crank on Monday and Tuesday to boost production so there would be something to talk about. And of course, come up with a clever status list each week.

So, let's get ready to ruummmmmble and do the status.

This is the FINAL route update status:

[ ] Not done, now were going to Buffalo
[ ] Not done, we're waiting on DTG to approve the EL-NJDOT U34CH
[ ] Not done, the Mona Lisa was not finished either
[ X ] Aw shucks, its done!

Yeah this one sums it up. Glen Campbell's Rhinestone Cowboy. The 1975 is strong in this one. Enjoy.

(Linky: https://youtu.be/8kAU3B9Pi_U )

Not working the route is a vacation. Just to give you an idea of what my route build schedule was like and very consistant.

M - F
0630 Wake up, Shower, Breakfast, get child ready for school.
0730 - 0845 Work the Route
0900 - 1000 Drive to Work
1000 - 1900 WORK
1900 - 2000 Drive home
2000 - 2130 Greet Family, Snack, Read News
2130 - 1200/0130 Work the Route

SA - this was variable
1000 - Wake up, Shower and Eat
1130 - 1300 Work the route
1300 - 1500 Chores
1600 - 1700 Work the route
1700 - 1830 Dinner
1830 - 2100 Rest
2100 - 0000/0130 Work the Route

SU - this was variable
1000 - Wake up, Shower and Eat
1100 - 1300 Chores
1300 - 1500 Work the route
1500 - 1630 Laundry-Chores
1630 - 1700 Rest
1700 - 1800 Dinner
1800 - 2000 Family-Television
2100 - 0000 Work the route

And yes, I have worked the route on Christmas night.
The days I didn't work the route is when I was not physically home and on vacation.
7 years

I had a routine, where to do the route, I needed about 30 minutes tinkering in an area to 'warm up' and start building. That part is just amazing to me, I would some times drag myself up to the office to get another mile in. Mile after mile, year after year. And I enjoyed it.

But it is really really nice to have downtime. I do miss daydreaming about the route. And I miss thinking about the route to put myself to sleep each night.

And yeah, I think I could do it again for a place like the Bergen that just wouldn't get done by the pro's.

Im busy at my new place of employment and focusing my creative energy there for the time being and I am enjoying that just like I did the route.

Till next time.
Carry on.

Are you working from home during the pandemic? Because that saves 2 hours more every day.
I can tell you I enjoy it immensely.

Chacal..yes from March 2020 to June 2021 I was remote. This helped immensely with production as I was building during work hours *!greengrin!* when opportunity presented itself.

Pluses: the coffee was fabulous and cocktail hour was moments away. And wake up time was an hour later.

This helped to bang out the last part of the route..big time!

Got your Wednesday on? If so, you are in the right place for the Wednesday Route Report and Update Status for this Friday, September 17th, 2021.

Another week has rolled on by and here we are again to get it on!

Let's do this status thing we do:

[ ] Oop, I forgot to backup the route
[ ] Norfolk Southern filed an injunction
[ ] Soylent green ... is people!
[ X ] It was a premature final I tell ya!

The Stones did this one and it was very good. But to hear the Flying Burrito Brothers do it ... well you be the judge. Let's give if up for the Brothers doing Wild Horses back in 1970 - Live at the Filmore East

https://youtu.be/uU3-L-ouNcI

Wild Horse couldn't drag me away from the New York Division evah!

You know, when I am not mulling over the next Wednesday's route report, or pondering litigation against Norfolk Southern with my crack legal team from the firm: Dewey, Rookem and Howe, or plotting to cut the supply of soy milk to the UK, I like talking about, thinking about and drinking beer! And while the Bergen doesn't give you 40 miles and a coal tipple, we give you 100 miles of ** main line and Beer. I would like to dedicate this thread to Manhattan Beer on the Piermont Branch in Suffern, NY.

20210913_BEER.jpg

Someday I gotta tell you about my new job and what we do, but not yet. Anyway my new commute though shorter is predominately a two-lane road. The speed limit is set by whatever slow mover I end up behind. In this case, it was a loaded down beer truck from our favorite distributor. Hopefully, some time, it will be following and even slower Pretzel truck. Anyway this leads to a route question. Why in the heck is Manhattan Beer in Suffern and Suffern Beer is in Maybrook? I don't make this stuff up.

And still nothin from the brain trust over at DTG re the EL-NJDOT. I guess it's on me to keep the torch lit and start setting things on fire. Such a shame. It's very hard for me to move on with unfinished 'business'. And it is also my nature to harp on things that are 'not right'. I've been done wrong and that ain't right.

Carry on.
