My god, when do screenshots get mistaken for the real thing?

I've barely begun to put any details in, I'm still in the general phase of making sure there are proper assets along the track to provide continuity to the route. Then I will start adding little details, given Railworks doesn't just up & die on me in the process... I think I'm asking a lot of this 20 year old game engine.

The goal is to provide a route that provides something new to look at around every bend, and provide as close to a real life scene as I can possibly get. Hopefully I can get to that point (and finally come up with a name for the route as well).

It is the time and care that make this work beautiful. The game is not the limiter, it was always about the skill of the artist.
The ground covering here is just meticulous!

While it does take a lot of time to do, the game is quite limiting unfortunately. I have to try to figure out ways to get around it's limitations while still being able to provide the level of detail that I want to get into the route, and my worry is that at some point the engine will just give up with the amount of assets I've crammed into the route. I still have a long way to go and I haven't even started placing trackside objects yet...

Once I get the area between the 2 towns mostly flushed out for distant objects I'll probably release it as is and keep going from there, that way if I lose it there's still something available to you guys to drive on that looks semi-decent.

With 64bit, you can go pretty nuts on the assets as long as you, and the folks running the route have some decent hardware.

So far, I'm still getting over 110fps in many areas of the route, so hopefully it'll be fine.

I was working on detailing the farm area near the summit, because I got bored of placing rocks...
