Maryland - A State of Middle Temperament and Middlin' Train Repaints

Since I seem to be focused on mostly doing a bunch of Maryland based repaints, I'm going to use this thread to keep track of issues and progress for Maryland based repaints, including anything CSX and NS related (since they both run through here and maybe one day we'll get a Baltimore route with all the various yards and I'll lose my mind)

Currently tackling the new Multilevels for a MARC repaint, have run into a bit of an issue that I'm trying to figure out - i suspect it's some oddities with the AO and Normal maps being called and applied, but I haven't quite had the time to dig through it.

Ignore the size issue with the stripe, that's me just doing a quick and dirty test. But you can see that one - that even though the lines in the decal texture file are solid, they are still being feathered/dotted to the left side of the door. To the right, I drew two quick lines directly onto the Main1 texture files, and removed the NJ Transit lettering from the decal texture. For some reason, it is still appearing (albeit ghosted) on the model.

Try just putting the stripe on the body so it's mirrored. Then replace the NJT logo with the MARC one. I'm really exited for these to be made! !!*ok*!!

The fat stripe is directly on the body (the decal stripe stops at the door) and was done to see if it would completely cover the NJ Transit logo or not.

Edit - I think I realized what I forgot. I need to go and edit/save the alpha channel to block out the old NJ logo and extra space around the MD flag.

Have you edited the decal texture's alpha at all? If not that could be the reason the edges still feather off to the left of the door and the NJT logo still shows.

EDIT: Oops, looks like you figured it out right as I was typing this !**duh*!!

Yeah, been awhile since I've done a repaint (and I've only done a few) and the amount of little things involved and that you have to watch out has me kicking myself for not taking better notes the first go around.

Any "breakthrough" yet?

Edit: Hope you don't mind I've added the MARC AEM7's!

Edit #2: Ktower seems to have gotten the Multilevels done himself!

Thanks! It was my first time trying to make custom curves, so it's not perfect, but it's good! :D

That looks awesome! I had managed to tweak a few things, but am now tied up on an emergency work assignment for an unsure amount of time, so haven't been able to work on it.

Looks like while I've been stuck on assignment, someone did their own set and uploaded them about two weeks ago. Which is awesome, and I'll direct people towards them.

It's in the best interest to download Fan Railer's ALP-46 DLC Mod Pack for the MARC Multilevels, it improves the operational experience: http://www.mediafire.com/?v1go2laq8afpe0f The MARC Multilevels require the HHP-8 and NEC Old (For AEM-7) DLCs (And NJT GP40PH-2B of the GP40 variant of the cab car is used)

Or just dig your way through an install the physics on what you have.
