I think we can all agree that there's just so many variation of the GP38-2 that it'd be impossible for RSC to model every one of them, so they just model one with the headlights on the nose and another one above the cab and went with it.

Seems like the GP38-2 is like Burger King, you can have it your way. !*roll-laugh*!

You are right. I went through the more than 40 pages of GP38-2 for BN and BNSF on Railpictures.net (I know, get a life) and I can tell you that all the people saying this or that is wrong with the RSC paint should spend a little more time researching because I can find things darn close if not perfect. If you are going to do a model you might just take a little artistic license and pick some of this and some of that. Or as the saying goes if you don't like it don't buy it.....or do your own paint and then someone else will criticize yours. !*lho*!

Exactly why I pointed out the reference pictures I sent to RSC. It's hard to get one 100% correct. The only way to do so is to make it so it's a static road number, and each of them have the details specific to that road number.

My suggestion was to paint it H1 paint, and I can throw my super detail parts onto anything.

Don't you have more projects than you can handle?
