WIP - The Florida East Coast Railway - Northern Section

Unread postby legostudios34 » Mon Oct 15, 2012 3:02 pm

Recently I have began working on the entire Florida East Coast Railway for Railworks. I currently have about 1 mile of track laid. I will be doing the route in 3 sections of approximately 120 miles of main line each. I intend to release segments of it periodically. The first segment will be from just north of St. Augustine to Jacksonville, about 30 miles. I hope to have this segment done by December 31. I will post photos as I take them.

I lived in Ormond Beach for six years and thoroughly enjoyed railfanning the FEC. Looking forward to this route. Do you think Amtrak will ever move to the FEC?

My Grand Parents retired to New Smyrna Beach and my Grand Dad used to take me down to watch the trains go through there and work the yards when I was a young lad. Hadn't thought of that memory in a while.

I live literally right across the street from the Bowden Intermodal Terimnal in Jacksonville so you can bet I'm pumped for this! I even considered modeling the FEC before but chose to start something else so I'm glad someone else picked it up.

Mr. Scaline, Hows your fine route coming along? I would be honored to implement some of your "Single Pole Billbaords" on the various routes I enjoy.
Hope to see your route, and all new Fla routes soon.
Keep up the great work all. !!*ok*!!

As of today, I have about 2.5 miles of track laid, and a little bit of scenery. I'll post screenshots when I get all the scenery finished for this first part. Still looking like I'll have 30 miles done by the end of the year :D

And for everyone thats wondering, I dont even live in Florida. I'm from northwest GA. I just love the FEC and every moment I've spent railfanning it.

UPDATE -
I got Railworks Decal, so I decided to start over and change my plans. My route will ONLY go to St. Augustine. I dont have the time to do the whole route. I've got about 20 miles of decal laid. I have about 2 miles of track laid around Jacksonville.

I havent updated in a very long time as I haven't been working on this in a very long time. I've been busy with school and other things. No real release date now, but probably August so I can work on it over the summer.
