I'm justing finishing an ehancement for Big Boy with lighting, new cabviews and enhanced smoke (a new and funny working area for me), including the current bpetit performance upgrade that will be uploaded to Library soon. Some day further will be Challenger's time, next on my steam's enhancement list. *!!wink!!*

I just hope Challenger will be better and easier to work than Big Boy, it was a nightmare to tweak Big Boy's cablights, the .geo reference center of engine's body don't match with .geo reference of cab interior so placing lights in cab lits outside up.

Cheers,
Doc.

Oh no Doc! Now you're doing it to me. I made all these custom changes to my big boys file. Yes. Big Boys. I have 3 separate BBs.
Now you're coming out with this and I have to start over. LOL! Only kidding. I'm looking forward to the update. *!!wink!!*
I swapped in the challenger smoke on mine some time back with some adjustments along with all new sounds and bpetit performance upgrade.

Oh yes Joe! *!twisted!* I'm right now playing with the smoke. The current problems are:
a) add tree types of smokies into the same chymnie (usually is just one), the alpha of one mess the alpha of others, causing flashing effects depending of the external view angle (like metal and flares dropped in the air by fight aircrafts as counter measures against radar and missiles !*roll-laugh*! );
b) the core game is able to control only one chymnie source (the "Main Smoke Stack" command) and Big Boy has two Big Holes belching smokes. As I can see in your shot the smoke comes from just one single source also, maybe I'll live with that (some will complain), or run around making the column wider.

Let's see what will come up!

Cheers,
Doc.

if they are reading, and it's not on the list, could it please be put on the list? *!!wink!!*

It looks like Machineist will handle it, but really once you understand how child objects work its not too complicated after that. Just a lot of trial and error.

Yea. Doc will get it. Just wanted to show that the second stack shows the puff when running. It does the puff with the chug. The other shot was sitting still. !*salute*!

Would it be possible to apply this to the 4-6-6-4? The single smoke bugs the crap out of me!

OK. Here you go. Gives you a nice grey flow from the back stack and the black puffs from the front as you're running.
Download at bottom of post. Install the 2 bin files in your Assets\IHH\US Railroads\Particles folder. Back up your originals.

This looks awesome, but I'll be honest, I was hoping for consistent smoke color,(like on the Big Boy) but this is very nice! Thank you !!*ok*!!

It's been a while, but I've finally gotten the black smoke deflector'd one black black and if you wouldn't mind, I can PM you the files so you can edit the .bin files.

I can send the Big Boy too w and w/o whitewalls, also both on both Challengers.

(on a side note, I will soon be starting on a new grey Challenger rpaint with a more energized yellow, lightly darker grey, and black sand domes, maybe a silver version with silver runningboards and stripes!)
