WIP VIA "Canadian" Coaches

Hi guys,

Thought I'd share my latest reskin project. Its still a work in progress. At the request of thecandianrail, I am trying to put together a set of VIA Rail coaches. I'm basing them off of the G-Trax car set payware.

They are not totally protypical but I suspect they will do. I've used traindecals for the VIA logo, Canada Logo and the Canada Flag. I added a ribbed texture to the roof but it kind of gets messed up on the rounded end car plus the roof vents also pick up the texture as well. Maybe you guys can give me your opinion as to whether to keep it or revert back to the original smooth texture in the original model?

Things still to do:

- weathering on the cars and decals.
- weathering on the trucks
- font replacement on the road numbers
- names for the sleeper cars (may have to limit the number available)

Nice Work! I'm a big fan of VIA rail. If I may make a suggestion, some of the MK cars (the ones that go with the class 43/HST) be repainted as the renaissance cars on via rail. I think they're actually the same (or very similar) to those as VIA bought them from the UK. Just a quick suggestion/request. !!*ok*!!

Awsome, they are looking just as i hoped they would. just ad some grime and shine to the cars and they are just like the real thing! (yes even when these cars are dirty they still are very shiny)

Hi guys.

Quick update. I'm trying to improve the polished stainless steel look to the cars to look more polished. Let me know if you think this is on the right track.

Yes, that's good. Otherwise they just look gray.

We will have to wait for someone to make the Mk4. for the carriages VIA uses for 'the Ocean" service from Montreal to Halifax.
The others used are called LRC which has it's own look altogether.
