MRL SD40-2

Unread postby wlenz781 » Sun Jan 19, 2020 10:44 pm

I am working on creating some additional MRL SD40-2s for the Searchlight model. These are using the newest paint scheme for the MRL engines. These will be engines 251, 252, 253, and 254. These can be used in conjunction with my other set giving 8 total engines for the Montana Rail Link routes.

Very nice work.
Do you have any plans to make repaints for the SD40s in the original MRL livery, with the big stripe and the old logo?
Again, great work with these repaints. Can't wait to run them on zawal's MRL map.

Not sure if I will take that one on as well. Got other things I want to paint on these engines as well.

What is the opinion of the group? Do you want four engines as I have painted them, or make two of them reflect the paint suggested by PNWR1854?

I personally like your first option. You can still choose to do the older versions at a later date. **!!2cents!!**

I kinda like the newer ones that I made as well. The Operation Lifesaver was an intermediate scheme, so the weathered ones combine with these engines.

Nice work on these! Your colours are spot on. MRL does an excellent job of keeping their units clean, so a lightly weathered (trucks, fuel tank, walkways) version would cover almost all instances.
