Rudi,
Here is a glamor shot of #26 in its native environment.

Some time ago I was working on a Sacramento & Northern GE44 in the later orange & aluminum livery (which they ran with from the early 1950's), to supplement my previously uploaded "post war" black & gold livery pack. I agree RudiJager, the grille was a nightmare, as it is broken up into many segments, but I persisted and it looks good. But that also rather burned me out and I never got back to finishing it off with weathering and a few other tweaks. It remains in my files as a w.i.p.

I have a retained template of the grille area if that woiuld help anyone (though of course the specific width and alignment of stripes etc would need adapting)

Thanks for posting Chris; you've shown me it's possible to apply diagonal stripes to the grill area, and looks like a fine piece of alignment work too ..would be a shame not to finish it sometime. Thanks also for the template offer, but yes, I would need to map-out the stripes for a HSR version, as they are a different configuration (dimensions), and would also need to seamlessly blend/connect with the stripes on the sides of the hood; so I'd need to start with my existing template anyway. Not sure when I'll get around to it though, as I've been spending most of my time lately (over 40 hours) spinning my wheels over how to get route markers to appear in the route I'm working on ..but that's another story *!lol!* ..and if I can't find a solution eventually, I'll probably post a new topic in the "problems" forum.

Cheers! !!howdy!!
