Looking for Beta Testers for two new scenarios

Unread postby ryan9550 » Wed Aug 24, 2016 1:27 pm

I'm not sure if this is the right section for this, but here goes nothing !*don-know!*

I'm in the process of making to different versions of the same scenario for the Majestic Falls workshop route and I'd like to send 75% complete versions to various members here to Beta Test. I'm doing this because I want to make a quality scenario, so any feedback is welcome.

These scenarios require the following:
-The Majestic Falls workshop route(and it's dependencies)
-The EMD GP9 Add-On
-The SW1500 Add-on
-The Norfolk Southern SD45 High Hood Add-On
-The USATC S160 Add-On
-And about an hour and forty-five minutes of free time for each scenario !!**sorry**!! !!**sorry**!!
Thank You to anybody that Beta Tests these *!!thnx!!* *!!thnx!!* Please post feedback in this thread so it's easier for me to see how this went. *!!thnx!!* *!!thnx!!*

Ryan,

I'm currently involved in beta testing of a forthcoming route and its scenarios, but I cannot help asking why your work requires four DLC engines. That number, which evidently strikes you as small, would keep me from trying your scenario even if I owned all the requirements. That DTG supports and promotes workshop scenarios as yet another DLC sales tool is obvious, but must we, as scenario writers, really be so quick to serve their ends?

Apologies for tossing in a detour.

Could you be anymore insulting!? *!mad!* *!mad!*

No, I don't think that's a small amount of add-ons. I know that's a lot of requirements for one scenario to have, but I wanted a bit of variety in the scenario (have you ever heard of it?). The point of the scenarios was to portray a Southern RR branch-line that only had GP9's and SW1500's and has just acquired an SD45 in one version and in the other they've just acquired an SD45 along with an S160 that was just restored for revenue service. I went through a lot to get these 1 hr 45 min scenarios programmed and I thought I would ask people to beta test this so I could possibly improve and/or add to it. And on the issue of "DTG supports and promotes workshop scenarios as yet another DLC sales tool is obvious, but must we, as scenario writers, really be so quick to serve their ends?", one quick look at RWA scenario collection shows scenarios that require a lot more than what my scenarios require.

If anybody still happens to be interested in the beta; i'm not doing it anymore, because apparently I've got to many required add-ons. !*not-ok*! !*not-ok*!

Cmon, Ryan. Don't give up testing because someone threw a stick in your bicycle wheel. You take out the stick and keep pedaling.

I have all of those assets but I'm unlikely to have the time until this weekend.

Jeez grow up a little. One guys doesn't want so much payware and you throw in the towel. Good grief. You make a scenario the way you want it. Not the way someone else wants. Oldprof makes them his way, I make them my way and you should make them your way. Lots of people own lots of DLC and they would be more than happy to run your over loaded with DLC scenario because that's why they bought all that stuff, to use it. If no one writes scenarios with payware, why even buy it?

Sorry about all of this !!**sorry**!! In the moment I got very annoyed and I just needed to get away from it very quickly.

If anyone's still interested, just let me know. I send them through PMs tomorrow as I'm away from my computer. Don't worry, I'm over it (mostly) I really look forward to seeing what everybody thinks of them. !*brav*! !*brav*!
Sorry again for my childish response to the whole thing !!**sorry**!!
