NS Heritage Repaints Have started.

Let's go folks! Time to start painting some of these. !!*ok*!!
I've been putting it off cause I don't drive diesels much but these can be pretty cool.
One down and more to go. Next up will be Erie Lakawanna and Erie of course. I'm doing what I have templates for and then will move on. I would like to see more skinners get some of these out there. *!!wink!!*
Guess I'm gonna keep using the ES44AC for repaints cause it's default RW. I want to get at least two done before they get uploaded. Hope some of you been wanting some of these.

The NKP looks hot from the pic of the real one so I did this one first. Trying to get a good shine on it. I don't consider it done yet but close. :D

Marvellous !!!

They look great with a little shine, as the paint is new.

Would you care to share those templates? We need a good autonumbering CSX YN3 ES44.

I don't have the auto numbering set up. I'm just painting the number on for now and disabling auto number.
This one's still a WIP.

Hi XDriver,
Your Nickel Plate unit looks great, but unfortunately you'll have to redo your EL unit. NS scrapped the EL and replaced it with the DL&W

http://www.nscorp.com/nscorphtml/images/heritage_locos/Lackawanna.jpg

Since they are doing the Erie, I guess they figured they should do the DL&W since both lines merged to form the Erie Lackawanna. On a side note Altoona just released the N&W blue hamburger scheme unit. Next up for Altoona is the PRR unit. Chattanooga so far has released the Southern and the CofG units.

Here is the list of the units NS is doing along with the artist renditions of the units http://www.nscorp.com/nscportal/nscorp/Media/images/heritage_images.html Though I"m not sure why they are doing the NYC, since CSX got most of the old Central?

Regards,
Rich S.

They look very nice!

While its really simple, I think this paint looks good on an ES44!

I don't think I'll do all of them. Just what I feel like doing as I go. Anyone who paints, is welcome to join in here and paint a few. I just had some extra time and felt like giving it a go for something different. !*salute*!

I don't know about a pack. I've thought of it but I think people would like to pick and choose which ones they like. I think I'm just going to let them trickle out as I go and release them as singles. I'm putting the NKP and Lackawanna out tonight sometime as singles.
Here's my final version whether right or not I think it looks good.

Go ahead and count those rivets. LOL! I used the blue color from the N&W logo I had. It seams to look different from other angles and depending on where the sun and shadows are. So far. I'm not happy with what I have of it. I want the shinny look but it starts to wear out the details. I might put it in hold and start another one. You can take it over. *!lol!*
I like the looks of the Southern green one I might start on that one. *!!wink!!* I have to make sure I don't burn myself out. !*roll-laugh*!

Blue's still a tad bit off, looking good though! According to 3DTrains color chart, this blue should be 40,44,86 (In RGB.) Of course, this blue looks not like the blue on this unit. I suggest Altamont Commuter Blue instead, 41,61,130- much closer to the heritage unit color. Try that please. Good work. !!*ok*!!

Well. Csxgp38. I think you might have saved this one! !!*ok*!!
The color codes 41,61,130 seem to be a winner. Thanks for the advice. I did a few more minor changes too and she's shaping up a bit.

Fabulous looking units !!

Really like the Lackawanna, like the other heritage schemes repainted so far, fits quite well on the angular shape of the ES44.

Envious of your work. You apparently have no problem repainting the ES44.

Can't wait to line them all up for display on one of my routes, I assume this is what most of us will do.
Wonder if NS has planned the same great display when all of its heritage fleet is out.

There still are a free freelance schemes available, like AC&Y, P&WV and possible other small roads adsorbed into NS, right?
Which small roads are these, actually? Monon, DT&I, IHB? Here you can let your imagination roam free. Please by all means, do so!
