I would like to announce my next repaint release. This time, its EX-CN SD40-2W "Wide Nose" units in Zebra Schemes. I found these all interesting subjects for this project.

Forgive me Sir, but, you've already got a CN SD40-2 Zebra Pack in the download library from December, are these different ones then, please, just asking ??

Cheerz. ex-railwayman.

@ex-railwayman. The ones in December are CN units. This package are Ex-CN units used by Leasing Companies.

Those are perfect for the IIR route! I'm swapping all of them in all scenarios.

Hmm, these guys need some "old and tired" physics, I think.

Kali, I'm using your physics for the SD40-2 Widenose and I like them.
Should I use them for more locos? Are they close to prototype?
It's becoming confusing to completely change physics and air brake behavior when you change engines.

Erm... I would go with "nearer" :) without access to SD40 performance data I couldn't tell you if it was spot on - and 3000+ units up to 40 years old are going to vary like mad anyway. The brakes are never going to be accurate until the RW core changes - all we can really do atm is set them up so you have to think about when you're going to brake rather than them being the analog of a car brake pedal which you can use any time. I have long term ambitions to model the brake system fully in script ( which would mean you'd have to drive it all from the cab instruments ) but paying the bills comes first atm.

TBH I've forgotten what I did to the widenose physics... I'll check again when I have some time.

These repaints, unlike the original Zebras I did, reference most of the default files including the default engine simulation file. I'm I correct in assuming you just have to use Kali's custom simluation file on the default widenose and they will then run on these?

Sorry, I'm still very clueless about the custom physics and the ins and out of blueprints (though I figured out the child objects). !DUH!

Yep. I think these might deserve their own "tired and wheezing" version though :)

I guess a million miles of service will do that to them. *!!wink!!*
