NERW PA Divions Route - Public Beta Release 01
I have uploaded my route here today. Hawk will have it in the library when he is able. It is not completely finished, but the track work and track infrastructure are done. The scenery is about 80% complete. I started in the east and worked my way west, so the west end is barren for about 9 miles. Several of the major areas still need some work. I hope to have all the scenery with in the next two months. I lost a month and a half waiting for the new block assets tool to help me plant trees, then found out I dont like it.
The route is 50 miles long and it is totally fictional except I used SRTM data from about 20 miles below Pittsburgh PA. The route is not really prototypical either. The first thing you will notice is an abundance of signals. I did this to help AI negotiate the route better. It is also nice to see how the switch is set in yards. I made this route to be fun and to be used for my virtual railroad club. There is plenty to do, freight and PAX and it is not too hard on the FPS rate.
There are 2 files, one is assets and one is the route. The asset package is final and will not be changed. If by chance I find a new scenery object that I must have in the route, it will be bundled with the final route package. For this reason, the asset package should be installed first. Also in RW3 some of the assets act funny (they glow) and they will most likely be updated by their authors in the coming weeks. I may be able to fix some of this myself with the new option in RW_Tools. One of the major glowing objects are the loading dock objects, the concrete pads have a glowing haze around them.
I have been working on this route since June 2010 and between me and my helpers we have over 2,000 man hours on the route. This route is a joint effort, with out my friends the route would only be half done.
I hope you enjoy our work.
