Soundpatches for "EMD 16N-710G3C - SOUND ENHANCEMENT PACK" + repaints

Unread postby kris120 » Sun Dec 19, 2021 7:14 pm

I have started this project more than a year ago as I've experienced lots of sound dropouts in the SD70ACe (not the Whisper).
Soundpatches will fix the sound of non-iso cabs of the SD70ACe and add an external alerter.

Patches to older repaints will upgrade these to MLW-level and make installation easy by usage of a script.
These repaints will be patched :

Details will follow.

Hi,
just read the details in the filelibrary itself now.
I have created 2 packages now as it would have become a bit complicated to explain everything and not everybody needs the patches for the repaints.

These are now:

The soundpatch for the package by SearchlightSimulation itself with
- external alerter
- complete new adjustment of the soundcurves for all NON-Iso locos
- patch for TruckAudio
http://railworksamerica.com/index.php/d ... =25:sounds

Then the patch for all the repaints I could find which are not compatible to the soundpackage by SearchlightSimulations.
This includes fully installation via a script but works with already installed repaints, too
Please check the long list at the download page:
http://railworksamerica.com/index.php/d ... e-repaints

Have a lot of fun with these packages.

Kris

Edit :
There are 2 pictures which inform you and should help you with your decission:

These would be the new, optional lights (soundpackage):

And this is a comparison of the different power indicators. The script adds the version in the middle or does nothing, depending on your choice:

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your the results of your hard work.

Nice headlights too, makes one wonder why DTG, DTM and their likes still lazily copy-paste RGB (0,0,0) into every of their emitters.

Perhaps, and under the EULA, they can even appropriate the RGB(x,y,z), LOL

I wish it would be easier to add dimmed lights to AI locos and enable these dimmed lights together with full lights for the gamer.
Trurailsimulations has published a BNSF version where you can set the lights independently on the front and back to off/dimmed/bright.
There are repaints of MLW and UP available on trainsimcommunity using his scripts, too (though I prefer the older versions here).
I don't know whether I have the time to do that for the repaints here, too. Some look still really nice.

Nice fact: The golden swoosh here seems to be pure fantasy. I just found it on my own library, never installed and found it is not real when I've looked for the download links.

In my HO modelling days I used to say "there's a prototype for everything and if there isn't there soon will be". It seems that if you look hard enough .......
