Based off Larry Goss model just released. I'm going to do several different paints they used.

Is that a refrigerator car? Always liked the look of that particular car. Nice work!

Nah. It's a insulated box car. They used it for all kinds of fruits and vegetables that they didn't want to get too hot or too cold. Lots of apples and fresh stuff from the West and the South to the cities of the North.
"*These 70-ton Plate C cars were considered bunkerless refrigerator cars or insulated box cars and carried the mechanical designation of RBL or XLI, respectively. They were assigned to temperature sensitive commodities such as dried foods, canned goods, jar goods, drinks, packaged foods (rice, pasta, cereals), pet foods, nursery plants, seeds and xmas trees."

If I'm searching for prototype pictures of these cars, what descriptions will help?

Just put in "insulated boxcars". You should get a bunch of hits.

Thanks Buzz. Can't wait to see the rest. I Remember seeing these back in the days. It was FGE (Solid Cold) on the Santa Fe's and PFE (Pacific Fruit Express) on the SP's, At least that's what I would see the most here on the west coast....I feel old now

A couple of interesting articles about FGE and their history:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fruit_Growers_Expresshttp://trains21.org/2015/10/09/the-hist ... d-reefers/Unfortunately the pictures don't show up in this article so you have to go looking for them elsewhere.
