Is it possible to substitute another cab for this one? Not from the Big Boy but maybe the Berkshire or other?

Here is an update to Simon van de Laak's Allegheny/Blue Ridge engines. I've added sound, smoke & steam effects, and increased the size of the textures. There are now 3 different numbers for the Allegheny and 4 for the Blue Ridge available. Also, I created .bat files which allow you to select a 'clean' or 'dirty' version of each engine. These .bat files are located in the ..\Assets\SVDL\RailVhehicles\Steam\Allegheny(or Blue Ridge) folders. Be sure to check the readme.txt included in the .zip file for more information. The .zip file is big (616mb), so it may take awhile to download. Click the the 3 dots '...' on the right of the Dropbox page, to select download.

As I said in the readme.txt - "I'm sure I overlooked something....". While trying to figure out why the Blue Ridge has no sounds when loaded in Quick Drive, I noticed I still haven't corrected the gap of the pilot completely. If you look below the pilot deck, you'll see there is a gap in the piping. It is minimal for the Allegheny, but considerable for the Blue Ridge. In fact, I believe the problem with the Blue Ridge is that the front engine is slightly farther forward than it should be. I'm working on this and will upload the corrected files as soon as I can.

Okay, here is the fix for the above mentioned problems. Copy the SVDL folder into the ..\Assets folder and overwrite everything. Sorry for the overlooked errors. (I'm sure there are more! Let me know) If anyone has any idea why the Blue Ridge engines do not have sound when loaded via Quick Drive, please let me know. If loaded into a scenario in a route, the sound works fine.

Jamesphh, yes it is possible - not sure which cab I used, but shoud either be from the BLE SantaFe or from IHH's old Mikado which came with the Challenger as bonus.
The cab des not fit perfect but if you can live with that I'll gladly share it.
I did this also for some other engines of this package, but have to do some research :-)

Please share. I have been messing with this on and off for a while with no success.

Yes, please post or provide a link to a file sharing site.
I did not expect any would be perfect, but this would be better than the current black hole.

I've fixed the Quick Drive problems with the Blue Ridge engines, so they're now all available in Quick Drive with sound. I also corrected a problem with the textures, which you may have noticed - some large circles on the sides of the boilers. This is a complete upload of the Assets folder, so delete any previous install. Check out the Readme.txt. Click the 3 dots '...' at the right of the Dropbox page to download the files. (NOTE: I've removed all previous files from Dropbox.)

I've noticed the posts regarding aliasing a cab to the engines. I've actually been working on a cab, but it's new territory for me. Below is a screenshot of my progress so far. I hope to make it a 'working' cab, with animated controls, but that remains to be seen. The 'colors' you see in the screenshot are not textures, but just the different materials. I did this to make it easier to distinguish the different parts. I'm using a photo of the actual Allegheny cab, but don't expect all of the detail in the actual cab. I'm trying to make it recognizable and somewhat functional. I'm not sure when I'll have a finished version, but I'll keep you posted. You may want to alias the cab in the meantime.

Well...., it turns out that I haven't fixed the texture problem. As far as I can tell, it only affects the C & O 1641 & 1644, both clean and dirty. I'll try to get this corrected and post a fix soon.

The fix was easy. Here's the link. As always, click on the 3 dots '...' on the right side on the Dropbox download page. Sorry for the inconvenience.
