After I installed this sound pack, all of my SD70s wqould not appear in game. They would appear on the list, but the models would not show up. Any help? !*snd-help*!

Does the game work otherwise? Engines just appear as invisible? Clear cache, reload Railworks. Usually works for me

I experienced some of these issues, as far as I noticed when you change views whilst horn is sounding yet. Saving and continuing restores the horn sound, so it looks like a hard code problem. So, as Krellnut stated, has nothing to do with the pack (it's only about engine sounds), and also the dynamic brake sound is RSC default. This is why I didn't go far investigating.

You are the Horn Master, go ahead and look into the problem... *!!wink!!*

If the freeroam of the related engine is loading and working, then your installation is (supposedely) fine.

Please read the Readme.pdf (looks nicer and clearer than txt), it took a long time to make it. You'll find an explanation about the "show up" thingy, and a couple of guidelines to avoid or run around the problem. *!!wink!!*

Thanks Machinist. Ill re run it again! !*brav*!

EDIT: I read the .pdf file and didn't see anything about the show up thing. You may not have entirely understood what I said.
The couplers are there, and I can hear the sounds, but there is no engine. !**conf**!

Hi Noel,

Good boy, did the home work reading the Readme, eh? !*roll-laugh*! Just kidding. *!!wink!!*

Let's let it clearer, then. From Readme, right in the beggining (Important Notes):
If you don't have one or more of the packs the helpers for the packs you don't have will show up in editor, but not on tracks.

In your pic you are still in the Scneario Editor, right?

Basically any vehicle depends of some types of files, for example in your case: the engine.bin (the engine builder), the engine.Geo (the geometry of basic model), the engine sounds, a folder full of textures files (the paint thing).

Only who own (who bought the RSC DLC pack has the .Geo file, and the textures folders for the default paint). In our pack we provided a new engine.bin and new sounds.bin. The Editor shows that engine exists when you have the engine.bin file, and you can even hear it because it is calling the sound files. But without the .Geo file you can't see the engine (because for the game it doesn't exist, the game doesn't get to put the engine in a scenario because is missing the skeleton, despite of the rest of body is present in the game).

Is like you download a re-paint of a DLC that you don't have, you can't play that engine. With our main pack (this one of this thread) you can play only the engine of the pack you own, otherwise you'll see the ghost engine in the Scneario Editor, and trying to load scenario it will fail.

The Expansion Pack released today holds all SD70 RSC DLC packs, so it may help. But you cannot place in the scenario an engine of RSC Pack01 if you don't have Pack01 installed in your computer.

Gotcha? !!*ok*!! BTW which is the invisible engine you placed on track showed in the pic?

Cheers,
Doc.

b737lvr wrote:Well you see, I had this problem too when I was testing for krell. I bought SD70 Vol 1 and it finally started working. Something is preventing those who dont have pack 1 from using this sound mod.

Hum, not sure.... *!rolleyes!* When I was testing one pack I was "renaming" not used packs in order to be sure that engine of an individual pack would work without other packs. Since 3 days ago, with all packs working, horns are working fine... !*don-know!* But I can sure assure that you need only one of the packs. In the ACe UP freeroam is set only Pack01 blueprints, you don't need to own Pack02 and/or 03. In ACe BNSF freeroam is set only Pack02 blueprints, you don't need neither 03 nor 01. However, in MAC BNSF freeroam I'm using engines of packs 02 and 03, as mentioned in the scenarios description.

Just I thought (there are such weird things on this game) you may have problems if your scenario has the 3 pack blueprints chacked, ie you have left checked not used blueprints. In theory it usually doesn't matter, but who kows?!?! When testing engines I rarely blast horns (I'm focused in other things), but I'will use them often from now ahead.

If I have to have the Vol. 1 pack as well, I am pretty out of luck until I can get some money and order it. Sorry man. *!sad!*

No... as mentioned in Readme you don't need to have all RSC engines packs, our pack cover all RSC packs but you don't need to have all. Only one of them is enough. If you have only Pack01, our pack works for Pack01 engines (but only for them: UP and DRGW), if you have only Pack02 you can use all 4 liveries of Pack02 (BNSF Whisper, BNSF, CN and NS) flawlessly. The same if if have only Pack03: you can play only the MAC BNSF.

Our pack doesn't "requires" (is not mandatory) all RSC packs to work, our pack "uses" (is totally different) any of the RSC packs you already own. If (and only if) you have a certain RSC pack you have our pack working for it also, if you don't have a certain RSC pack our pack is useless because you don't have the DLC pack.

Bottom line: if you don't have only Pack01 you cannot play only the ACe UP and the ACe DRGW, all other 5 liveries of Packs 02 and 03 will work fine (since you have both packs).

Well, there a problem here. I have the Vol. 2 addon, and the models don't show up ingame. The cabview works fine, just the outside shell of the model doesnt show up.

Upload the default engine folder from vol2 as a attachment so I can take a look at it, and try it in game, please. I really want to get this working for you. Every pack is totally separate, one does not need the other to work.
