Also, I got permission from 'B & O Guy" at Elvas Tower to port his PRR M-1 Mountain and his ALCO FA/FB-1 and PA/PB-1 to TS2019. I'm working on the Mountain now. It will take more time since these engines don't come with textures.
Here they are in Blender, if anyone's interested.

Those look great, they'll also need 3d cabs as well.

Perhaps we could make the textures 4K or 2K if possible.

I have the engines smoking now, but it's pretty basic. I'm going to play with some steam effects and when I get something worth saving, I'll upload the smoke and steam files. Hopefully someone will get some sounds added.
Also, some of you may have noticed that the Allegheny actually has a headlight. I'm working on a tender light and it works, but you can't actually see the light on the rear of the tender. You can only see that objects behind the
tender are illuminated. Anyone have any suggestions as how to fix this?

Great to see progress. I noticed the last axle set of the engine trailing truck is low. I assume that is a attachment point value,or is it an error in the original mesh? Just an FYI.

Thanks for pointing that out. That last wheelset is 0.44 meters larger in diameter than the 1st and 2nd. sets. It's correct in the mesh, so I'm thinking it might be in the bogie blueprint. I'll do some tweaking to see if I can fix it.

I could easily start making sound samples for some general mallet chuff sounds tomorrow. I'm mainly making it for the Cab Forward, but I have no experience in putting sounds onto a fresh locomotive. Perhaps some of Mike Rennie's FEF-3 sounds could be aliased, with his permission of course.

Speaking of sounds, I found a couple of, what appear to be, useful sound guides on ChrisTrains site.
Creating Audio Blueprints:
https://www.christrains.com/en/index.html
Understanding Audio Occlusion Blueprints:
https://www.christrains.com/en/ts_faq_a ... usion.html

I was able to correct the problem with the 3rd axle on the Allegheny's trailing truck. (I took the easy way out. I copied the Blue Ridge's trailing truck, which didn't have the problem, to the Allegheny.)

I'll wait till I get several fixes/improvements done, then upload them.

Hi, Mike!

I think there's a typo in the description of the lovely Allegheny and Blue Ridge Mallets that you converted for us. Surely these are 2-6-6-6's? Not 4-6-6-6s? !**conf**!

See https://www.steamlocomotive.com/locobas ... el=2-6-6-6.

Kind regards,

John

I suppose with the m1 you might be able to program in the k4 cab as the m1 is essentially a stretched k4 to begin with. Not sure how hard that would be though, if it's even possible.

You are correct John. Sorry, I didn't proof read as closely as I thought I did. Thanks for catching that.

Good to hear the trailing truck fix is an easy one. I will wait for that first patch.

I'm glad to see an Allegheny/Blue Ridge in TS2019. !*YAAA*! Though it does seem to have some teething troubles, but I guess it is all part of converting/creating locos. :D !*cheers*!

I look forward to you getting these ported over. I'm sure someone here with the proper know-how can add textures. As for sounds and effects, maybe reference the "Kuju" EMD F7, or better yet, the "vR_Addon4" ALCO RS11 (The Steam Version) for the ALCO FA/FB-1 and PA/PB-1. For the PRR M-1 Mountain I'd suggest referencing the "RSC" K4Pack01. And perhaps someone here can tell you/us how to get these loco's to use the interior cabview from another loco.

Thank you for porting all these loco's for us. It is very much appreciated! !*salute*!

I'm working on tweaks to the Allegheny/Blue Ridge. The couplers are an issue. Buzz has been working on them and will send me his results. I'll do some testing to see about 'aliasing' another cab. I'm also working on smoke, steam, lights, and 'lumbering' on startup. I'm making some progress, but it's slow. (plus - I'm and old man and I still work.) When I get something that I feel is worthwhile, I'll upload the updates.

I'm learning as I go with these engines. Simon's engines were done in 3D Canvas/Crafter. I have that program, but never got anywhere with it. I've been playing with Blender for sometime and was able to do a 3DC to Blender export-import using .3ds format. Just by accident, I discovered that the .3ds format preserved the UV settings and so texturing was relatively easy. The problem with the Mountains and FA-PA engines is: that they do not have textures and are not UV mapped. I'm working on that situation now.

Any and all, help, advice, criticism, etc, is welcome.
