The above 2 links represent the latest and last updates to the Allegheny - Blue Ridge. I don't intend to do anymore with these engines.

As stated in the Allegheny-Blue Ridge_Readme.txt, "The cab has minimal user fuctions,..".

If anyone has a desire to do more with these engines, PM me for the source files.

The latest versions of the Allegheny and Blue Ridge have been posted to the library. (The original files have been removed.) I'll be posting an update in a few days, that hopefully addresses some issues that several have
asked about. (Never say never...!)

I'll be looking forward to seeing your next conversions to the train sim.

Would definitely love to see Casey Jones IC-382 locomotive in the sim as well, also available on Elvas Tower with source file.

I may have mentioned Allen Norton's (B&O Guy) PRR M1's in an earlier post. I have permission to do these, and would like to do them at some point. But, I have a couple of engines of my own that I'd like to finish first.

I believe what he was referencing with the firebox is somehow there is no way at all to refill the fire nor boiler water. I even turned on autofireman and the firebox ran out of fuel in about 15 minuets of operation. Not complaining because I understand this is a freeware based; however if someone has a solution to this, it would be greatly appreciated :D

Hello everyone, I can't seem to access the Allegheny in the Dropbox, it only shows up with error 404. Could someone help me out and/or post the link again? Thanks.

@6777A, the reason is, that the controls for Stoking, Firebox and Injector and their water valves do not follow the default names of the core game. Seems this non standard naming is not addressed in the script, to translate it for the game's use.

I reanamed the controls and built an input mapper, firing and refilling the boiler now works fine. I will have to do some tuning and check with Mike if it is ok to distribute the adjusted files - or he might will change this and update the whole pack.

And of course, thanks to Mike for all the work, and making this engine available for us.

Hi Thor. Thanks for taking the time to make these corrections. If you wouldn't mind, you can send me the corrections and I'll incorporate them into a new install package. In the meantime, you could still release them, if you choose. I normally run the sim with Auto-Fireman checked, so adding coal and water is somewhat unfamiliar to me. But, I realize that many do want to run the engines more prototypically, so I've been working at updating them. Sounds like you've already taken care of it! You can PM me or email me. As I stated before, these are not my engines. I just made them available for TS2020. Anyone wanting to modify them, is more than welcome to, as is sharing the mods.

Thanks again,
Mike Adams

Here is an update that allows coal and water to be added to the Allegheny and Blue Ridge engines. This is based on Thor1969's modified engine .bin file. It does not include his input mapper as I couldn't get the mapper to work. However, the keyboard functions seen to work. Hopefully, this is a step in the right direction. NOTE: You must have the Allegheny-BlueRidge.7z package from the file library installed. The update is installed over it. Thanks to Thor1969 for his input and thanks to all for your interest in these engines! Your feedback is appreciated.

OK guys, it provided me some headaches and I learned a lot about creating engines - respect to all Freeware and Payware creators, this is not an easy task, and I only modified a nearly completed engine!

I am in last testing phase now, and could modify all engines, so that they are working fine now :-) I will also hand over the files to Mike after there are some feedbacks from you regarding existing issues. He than can update his filebase entry.
Find the modified version here meanwhile:

V 1.1
https://1drv.ms/u/s!AhmLWyeq-a6ojIks4gV ... g?e=6hCWGE

What has been done?

- Added inputmapper including key controls for Hatch, Curtain, Cablight, Gauge Light, Air Punps and all the standard stuff.
- Fixed Boiler Gauge, now displaying correct value
- Brought all gauges in the cab to life - currently only a atate of "the needles move", but planning to script this fully if I can do this. I tied some values to them, so they show a value, currently only works when handling Stoker and LiveInjector water by keyboard.
- Cylinder cocks now work manually, the additional levers for forward and rear cocks move, but do not do anything right now. Also planned to script this.
- Sander works now, same as above, forward and rear sander levers work, but only rear does actually something. Also planning scripting.
- New whistle built on three samples, to toot as long as you want :-)
- Injectors working.
- Stoker working.
- Bell now on/off switch, do not need to hold B button on keyboard anymore.

Key Mappings:

Code: Select all
A/D Regulator as Stanard

W/S Reverser as Standard

R Stoker Increase
Shift + R Stoker Decrease

E Toggle right front window

Apologies, seems I did some mistake while creating the RWP file, please download this fixpack. Fixes some input mapper issues, some engines did not use the mapper, and on the Blueridge 900 the too low sensitivity of the control values for hatch and curtain.

https://1drv.ms/u/s!AhmLWyeq-a6ojIkpYEM ... g?e=E8gr9g

I'll update the main file also, but since it is somewhat large I do not want you all to dowanload it again.
Complete pack V 1.1:

Thanks and regards
