Do you have any dimensions or drawings?

45' x 150', and based on these proportions, I'm guessing 20' doors and 21' to the bottom of the eaves. Peak should be +6', with eaves extending about 4" to 6".

Here's a few images I found:

I don't have the dimensions but those dimensions sound about right. Thanks for the additional photos, perhaps one day I'll be able to model this and these will really help. I have all the DEM data and track laid for most of the Shasta division from the yards south of Dunsmuir to Grass Lake. I also laid tracks from the wye at Black Butte over to the town of Weed and the lumber mill there.

The other thing I'm looking for is the type of turntable used at Dunsmuir, it is a lot like the stock one provided by Kuju but has an arch over the middle.

The turntable was a standard 70' gallows type, but modified to a 100' pony truss in 1915.

Right now I'm using a 100' standard turntable. I also need more photos of the buildings up at Shasta Springs, there used to be a stop there but not sure when it was discontinued. That engine shed is where they serviced the cab forwards before they stopped using them.

I have 3ds but I'm still looking for enough information on making a model and exporting it to Railworks. I've worked with 3d before in Lightwave a while ago but need step by step instructions as to how to get the model to show up in Railworks.

IIRC, that stop ended prior to WWII and the resort closed in the early 1950s and sold to a religious group.

That''s a shame as i've seen pics of the stop and it looked nice. In modern day google earth pics you don't see any sign of it. I did notice that on the USGS site they had that stop shown as well as several others that are no longer there. The video I got of the Shasta Division gave me some good insights and showed unused tracks at Bolum. I am currently painting on ground textures before I start adding anything else.

I believe the resort is still there and owned by the same religious group. It's closed to the public, however.

I modeled this up. Of course I don't have the doors open yet but just to give you an idea of what I can do.

IIRC Mainline Modeler did a series of articles on the Dunsmuir terminal area in several of their early issues. I remember the series as being copiously illustrated with photos and drawings. It might be worth your while to look them up in Kalmbach's online magazine index. Last I checked, most MM issues were available at or near cover price from back issue dealers.

AFAIK, that's the complete series from MM. Those marked with drawings should be of particular interest, and the copies can be found on eBay at reasonable prices. I have nearly an entire set of MM, but sadly I stopped collecting about 1999. I'll have to dig them out and see if there's anything useful - usually there is, as Hundman Publishing had the best illustrations of any paper mag going.

My dimensions weren't that far off. According to the shed drawing (part 4) in the Nov 1980 issue (hard to find and currently overpriced at eBay - I got mine for less than $5 a couple of years back):

Length (less overhang): 151'-1"
Overhang (all sides): 6"
Width (less overhang): 45'
Side Wall Height (ground to bottom of eaves): 19'
Ground to Upper Roof Edge: 20'
Height (ground to roof peak): 27'

Track Centers: 22'

Windows (sides): 7' x 11'-4" - Bottom Edge: 4'-6"
Windows (ends): 7' x 7'-6" - Bottom Edge: 2'-8"

Door Opening (from ground): 14' x 19'-3"
Door Size (each from rail top): 7' x 18'-6"

Locomotive Pit Depth: 3'

Those are the important numbers for an exterior-only model, but the drawing did have some detail on rafters and such. I'll have to check in other issues for more info, however.
Cheers!

Nice start. Note, however, that there is a window on each end between the doors (measurements given above).

Thanks for the dimension information, perhaps I'll try to get a model done and then try my luck at getting it into Railworks. I've read posts that it is not very easy.
