As a guy who's worked with MSTS/OR i will say that a most of the newer assets are pretty dern good looking or a sim that's almost 20 years old.

But most of the older assets?....yeah i'm not gonna go there

Just uploaded the repaints... A CN superdome and I also repainted the Skytop into CN colours... Fictional but fun. I also added some fun passenger views... Rock on!

Whilst I have done some brand new buildings in recent years, much of the scenery/foliage used in my route(s) are objects that were used in MSTS, with the odd refinement. Quite a few 2D tree textures were redone just for them to become presentable!

I downloaded the steam engine files. I picked what I wanted before adding to my assets. What I kept all works just fine. As stated, some models don't look all that good, and some are better than actual TS models.

I'm glad to have a UP 9000 class for TS now. I figured I'd have to try my hand and build one. The AT&SF Northern looks great as does the MILW F7.

Thankful for a little more Varity with the passenger cars. Not all that much that appeals to me choose from regarding TS/RW passenger cars.

After downloading the repaints of the MILW superdome and Skytop done by rhovak, I have been thinking of trying to repaint them to more closely match the G-TraX cars that have been repainted for the MILW "Hiawatha" by Buzz. ( http://www.railworksamerica.com/index.p ... k-repaints ). And I may see what I can do with the MILW 4-6-4 F7 as well. But if anyone else with more experience wants to tackel this, plese don't wait on my account.

I have extended the availability of these items as they seem to be popular. I have not set a new drop dead date. But when I get around to cleaning out my download site to make room for the mods I am working on for another game I will be sure to provide one.

I also want to give those "coal powered rolling tea kettle" fans who are new to this simulator a chance to obtain these.

While not as fancy as the newer models coming out they are quite handy as era specific scenery or AI traffic to populate the route.

I personally love to have these engines as there is most likely no chance that DTG would ever do these, such as the New Haven I5 or the Milwaukee F7. The NYC Hudson was the only one available for a long time until DSGDDR's version came out. It's also fun to experiment with them, such as creating a 2-8-8-0 with the triplex.

Funny you should mention this. Rudi and I have been messing with the Skytop and here's a pic. I'll have it in this weeks upload dump.

Several years ago, Simon van de Laak posted a couple of engines, he had created for MSTS, on the Elvas Tower site. He also posted the 3DC source files along with the Photoshop files for the textures. He gave permission that the files could be used, distributed, or modified, as long as there was no charge made for them. Anyway, I downloaded the engines which consisted of a C & O 4-6-6-6 Allegheny (along with it's Virginian Blueridge counterpart) and a Virginian EL-C rectifier electric. (also in New Haven EF-4 livery and I did a Conrail E33 repaint) As the screenshots show, I've managed to get the engines into TS2019. (via Blender) The engines are original MSTS for the most part. I created new drivers for the steam engines. The textures are original, except for the Conrail repaint. This was all done pretty much as a test, just to see if I could get the engines into TS. I animated the valve gear and the pantographs. Other than that, the engines have no smoke, lights, or sound. The steam tenders do not have working couplers and I'm not sure about the couplers for the electrics, although they do couple together. And they have very basic physics (the steam engines tend to lurch on startup). The steam locos have no cab view, but the electrics have a very primitive cab. I have the ability to get the engines into TS, maybe someone else could add effects, lights, physics, etc. If there's interest, I'll upload them to the file library.

Oh my YES Please! The Allegheny / Blue Ridge alone is an excellent reason to upload.

Hopefully others here can help you complete the efforts and we'll have those beautiful beasts for running in RW!!

Thank you for sharing.

Yes I believe there are enough of us who dabble in sounds that we can get it working.

I've uploaded the engines to the library. Hopefully I didn't make any mistakes and the files will be available soon.

I'll raise my hand to talk to Rick Grout and see if He will let us use the cab view from the Santa Fe unless somebody has some other ideas. I see the UP9000 is using one of BritKits cab interiors.
