Speaking of cab replacements, can anyone that know's how, try to replace the cabs of the MSTS 4-6-4's with the cab from the (DSGDDR) freeware Hudson's?

MSTS loco's I'm talking about:
1. Milwaukee Road's class F7 4-6-4 "Baltic" (Hudson)
2. New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad class I-5 4-6-4 Hudson's
3. New York Central's class J3a 4-6-4 Hudson's (Not "really" necessary since we have the much better DSGDDR version's now, unless you want the one's with the black/silver paint. That, or someone repaint the DSGDDR one to have the two black/silver paint jobs.)
4. Lehigh Valley K5-B Pacific "The John Wilkes" (Ok, this one's a Pacific, but could use the same cab.)

I think I'm going to try playing around with changing the .bin files for the MSTS "Hudson's" so that they use the simulation files from the (DSGDDR) ones so that they run better. Might not work or make that big of a difference, but I want to find out.

Lastly, could someone upscale the texture files the way Buzz did with the textures for the UP 9000, etc.?

Thank you for your consideration?

Hey Buzz,

Could you please enlarge the following texture files for the Baltic F7 for me to 2048x2048? The files I need are "a7ten.TgPcDx" and "f7grau.TgPcDx". That first file is the one that has the textures for the top, front and rear of the tender. And the second one is the part of the wheels and frame for both the loco and tender.

Speaking of the tender wheels, I had to make a new, darker texture and named it black2TgPcDx and then I had to edit the shape file for the tender so that it would use the new texture so that I could darken the tender wheels. Considering this is a freeware MSTS conversion, I don't see a problem doing that.

I was able to get the loco to run using the simulation files from the freeware DSGDDR 4-8-4 J3 Hudson's. I'm just playing with the sound files as I wanted to use the bell and whistle from them as well, but so far I get 2 bell sounds so i'm working on that.

And I have been trying my hand at repainting the locomotive to match the "Milwaukee Road G-Trax Cars" you did Buzz. One of the biggest problem area's is the rear texture on the tender as it's still 512x512 and the sides are now 2048x2048.

I'll post some pictures here to show where I am so far for you and everyone else to see.

Let me know what you think.

Just a few more pictures. Included is one more of the tender I'm working on and one of the real locomotive and a HO model, showing the color placement. Note that the boiler and loco wheels are actually supposed to be gray and not silver.
