You're quite welcome. I just hope I can complete the cab and that it's satisfactory.

Here is an update to my progress on the Allegheny cab. It's going slowly. At first glance, there doesn't appear to be much difference between the fist screenshot I posted, and this one. But if you compare the two, you'll see a number of subtle differences. I've re-done most of the objects in the first post and added a few more. There is still a lot to be done. I'll post another screenshot when I've made more progress.

Oh I am so sorry - almost forgot that I announced to share the modified UP9000 engines, here they are:

https://1drv.ms/u/s!AhmLWyeq-a6oi4d9qYM ... A?e=LUrwO7

They use the cab of the IHH Consolidation that came with the original Challenger as bonus. I do not know how often this is around, if needed I can try the Challenger cab from RSC. But in general the process is relative simple for someone who has basic knowledge of handling bin files.
There is a line in the bin that reads

<InteriorGeometryID d:type="cDeltaString">IHH\US Railroads\RailVehicles\Steam\Consolidation\Default\CabView\[00]3985_Cab</InteriorGeometryID>
You may alter this to another path to a cab you want to try, after changing the line save the file and load a scenario with the engine. You should now see the new cab and can look around to see how it fits in the model. Note that most likely the levers etc. won't be animated since the names of the animation files (*.ban) will not match with the exchanged cab file.
To get this working you have to change each name of the animation files to the animation file used in the "new" cab. Maybe not all controls are supported, especially I can imagine this if yuu e.g. use the Smokebox 844 cab as new cab, but the basics as regulator etc. should work.

Just search for ban files in the bin and search the matching filein the engine folder where you took the "new" cab from.

Example for sander, it pointed formerly to the path of the MSTS Conversions, I adjusted it to the path of the IHH Consolidation.

<AnimationName d:type="cDeltaString">IHH\US Railroads\RailVehicles\Steam\Consolidation\Default\CabView\Sander</AnimationName>

I thought I worked also on the Triplex, but can't find the files right now or maybe stopped work - will see what I can find.
Let me also know if you like my reworked files for some of the Britkits, think I did Light and Heavy SantaFe and Heavy Mountain.

Cheers

Thorsten

I installed the new .bin files by dropping the new assets folder into RailWorks, overwrote the files, and in the scenarios where I had used the 9000 series, they disappeared from the consist. I replaced the MSTS conversion folder with a backup without the modifications and they reappeared. What did I do wrong?

@AmericanSteam - do you own the IHH Consolidation? If this is is the case, try activating the provider IHH\US Railroads in the scenario. I am not sure if this is required, but might be the case the GeoPCDX from the IHH model's cab can't be loaded without enabling it's provider folder. If the Geo can't be found it will lead to invisible model.

Sorry, I do not own the IHH consolidation. I will revert to the unmodified version. Thank you for your work. It is nice to be able to use these. I will look into acquiring the IHH. What is the source for this loco? It seems that there is no way to get the IHH consolidation anymore.

@AmericanSteam - it is sadly no longer available since IHH shut down in 2015 or so. There has been a package around from FSPilotshop, a TS2012 with the IHH Challenger as bonus, but FSPilotShop also shutdown as it seems.

I'll have a look to fit the RSC Challenger Cab in which is more frequent and also still available.

Thank you! The RSC Challenger Cab will be really nice instead of the very simple default cab.

I know this is conversions of MSTS steam locomotives......but has anyone looked into the Milwaukee Road electric locomotives?? The Quill, EF's,cand Bi-polars all exist there.....and they would be awesome, even on the Cascadian RWA route. Sorry if this is the wrong spot... Buzz ? :) The one EF would make an awesome GN Z-1!

Thanks,
Galen

Hello all

I tried to implement the cab of the RSC Challenger, which fits fine (as it is seems, the Consolidation cab has been the one from the IHH Challenger). Sadly it produces graphics garbage and distortions in view . it is sadly not usable as it seems. Also the one from BigBoy does the same.
I tried also the K4 cab, but this resuts in an immediate crash of the game :-(
By the way, seems I can't use the K4 at all, at least with 64-Bit version.

I'll try to use the BLE SantaFe cab now, currently also unavailable but think some more have it already compared to the old IHH Chalenger pack.
So sorry for the inconvenience, hope to get a workinf version soon. I'll let you know.
