NEPA-FHPG-002 - The Night Shift series

Unread postby wackyhuman » Tue May 15, 2012 8:00 am

Now available in the file library at RWA and also at the NERW website, four new scenarios for the NERW route for those who want to drive at night and (partially) in the rain. Designed for the NERW engines with lighting enhancements (from Doc 'Machinist" Lisboa), but usable without them too.

NEPA-FHPG-002a is a short 45 minutes scenario from West End Transfer Yard to Vaughn Industries in Chandler, delivering and unloading some Thralls that they are waiting for. The empties go to Kerri's Lumber. No AI on this one, but there is static content.

NEPA-FHPG-002b is a 120 minutes trip that takes you from Kerri's lumber to the East End yard with a heavy tanker train. Luckily you get to drop some cars off at Element. Includes AI and static content.

NEPA-FHPG-002c is an easy 60 minutes trip from the East End Yard to Element with some containers, until an accident at Wade gives you some extra work. No AI, but a lot of static content and additional (default) scenery. Get out of your cab and check out the accident at Wade.

NEPA-FHPG-002d brings you back to the West End Yard, however there are some cars at Tropicana that need to go to Element first. Leaving from Element at the same time as you is another train. Who will get to the West End Yard first? Includes AI and static content.

All scenarios use default NERW engines and cars available for free on the NERW website.

ZIP files includes the RWP file, a readme and an overview of used stock.
Comments as always welcome.

When I add a file to the library, I send an email to the uploader that includes a direct link to the file, which can be used instead of the link to just the page in the library.
This saves the end user the trouble of having to scroll down the page to find the file.

Did you not receive the emails I sent?

Here's the direct link for this file.

Well the dirty CSX got out by accident. The only place they would be is on the NERW website. The main site under the Fleet areas. Protoype repaints. I was in the process of dirtying the whole set, then RW3 came along and of course the old textures wouldn't work, so I never got back to them.

The rolling stock is in the NERW forums under New Repaints downloads, you have to be a member to download new stuff until it gets here or the web site. Haven't packaged them up for RWA yet as I have a few more things I am doing to make a bigger package. I think Frank assumed anyone who plays on the NERW route was a member of the NERW forum.

The tankers and white tropicana are on the web site. Those cars and some more PS1 boxcars, a passenger set of light weights and a new container set along with the old ACF boxcars will be in the next mega pack from NERW. I also have a K4 relettering and the G-Trax Daylight Steamer repaint coming. I just also finished a set of ES44Acs in Norfolk Southern livery using the RW3 model, (lights and rain).

Thank you. For some reason I only had a link to the forum page and not the main page. Has been corrected and now have all the items. I have enjoyed previous scenarios and am sure to enjoy this and future ones.

Yep, NERW is an awesome route, well concieved (also for nighty time) and very well designed for traffic (every needed signals and dwarfs, and plenty of portals, Tom Pallen would love to write scenarios for NERW). And the great thing also is that it has a big and beatiful fleet. Being a member you are ware of having to download the whole pack of assets, and once you have the fleet downloaded you can play any scenario without worries, no chasing assets is needed (unless scenario writer states the contrary).
Being a route fully playable at night (not much of them around yet), with all its features and fleet (there is virtual railroad coming soon), and due to my lack of time to just play for fun, I naturally chose NERW as my prime route to play, BTW the few time I have to (just) play.

Cheers,
Doc.

One thing I would suggest is that lights are added at every load/unload point. It is difficult to line up cars in the dark.

Bob is currently working on route and lighting in all load/unload points is already in his "to do" list. *!!wink!!* !!*ok*!!

Thanks Bob for helping Jamesphh. As a member of NERW I forgot about the fact that not all stuff was available to everyone and I can't even remember what is available where, but then, if you run the NERW Route, shouldn't you be a member? :D

I'm having difficulty downloading the NE 16k Gallon Tanker Set, the page comes up as a 404 error, is Bob available to investigate, please.

Thanks.

And that is another great example of the service you can get at RWA and NERW. And since Bob and Hawk (and all the others who run RW related websites, design routes/scenarios/rolling stock/scenery/add-ons) do not like to brag about what they do for the RW community, I will say this: Thanks guys, very much appreciated.
