NERW PA Division route is finished!

Unread postby artimrj » Sun Jan 15, 2012 6:20 pm

Didn't think I would see the end. Have been telling my wife for a year now I have to get it finished before I die. Nineteen months and 2400+ hours of loveing labor. It was really fun to do. And Railworks makes it look good if I do say so myself.

Anyway it is uploaded to the RWA library. Hawk will post it when he goes on duty next. There are 3 files now. The original asset package, a newer smaller asset additions package and thenew versionof the route with documentations. I am not much of a writer though. I did my best there. So if you have the original asset package you will not have to download it again as nothing in it changed. NERW_PA_DIV_ASSETS_FINAL_02OCT11.zip is the name of that file.

I also talked with Hawk and he welcomes my ficticious liveries here. So I will be creating some packages with trains in them for use in the NERW scenarios that will also be coming. We have close to 40 ready, except I am going to run RW Tools on them to get equipment lists for them first. AS I process them I will upload them here as well as putting them on my website. We are also writing scenarios for other routes using NERW liveries.

Have fun!

Great! Glad to see the conclusion of this labor. I've been running the beta route, and sure enjoy it. I suspect it will be a new favorite with many here, particularly since there are so many interesting scenarios for it.

Sorry to hear that. I tried to keep it as friendly as possible. What are you running it on? I have a 6 core Phenom II 3.2 ghrtz with 8 gig of ram and an ATI 5750 with a gig on it. Win 7 64 bit. I geta nice 29 fps on it until I hit the more populated areas. If there is a lot of rolling stock I can go down to 14 fps, but it is still smooth with my FPS locked at 30 fps.

I just finished the discovery scenario. Nice work!
I liked the scenery and the possibilities for industrial road switching.
I can't wait to try multi-route scenarios.

Is there a map of the inter-connection between routes?

We are still working on the mapping for the virtual railroad connections. Didnt think the route would take so long to finish. Wait until you see the map for the route that is coming.

11 years with 3 other MSTS vrs and a VA with FSX/9 she has gotten used to it. Imagine if I played WOW or something like that. We lost friends who are playing WOW. To appease her I named aircraft and rolling stock after her, she smiles seeing her name on something in the route or in the air. She is Kerri's lumber. Her son Aaron is across the street at the Gravel Pit. That makes it all OK *!twisted!*

Now that I am back to writing scenarios, I get to drive the route. Well the last 2 months or so was on the west end doing 9 miles of scenery, and we got RW3 during that. Seems RW3 shows up your flaws better. So sometime in February I will have a small update that fixes all the floating track or sink holes under some track and smooth out a few other rough edges. Shadows make these really stand out to me and I dont like it. Some one also suggested we need more Whistle Posts on it. If anyone sees anything else wierd, please let me know so I can address it. *!embar*!

Okay, I'll holler if I come across anything, but no need for the red face smiley. You've done great on this route, and the increasing number of scenarios for running it is fantastic as well. The concept of connecting it with other virtual routes across scenarios is brilliant. Kudos!
