Cimarron & Pacific RR install available

For some railroad activity circa 1910 in New Mexico, please give my new route a try. It's the Cimarron & Pacific, loosely based on the historical St. Louis, Rocky Mountain and Pacific and the Cimarron and Northwestern (narrow guage), both out of Cimarron, New Mexico.

There's a readme in the first install file with complete install instructions. There's only one payware package required, the Phorum Penninsula.

Thank you very much for that. More steam era routes would be nice. Some great locos and stock are available from these time periods but not many places to use them.

I didn't realize that. I thought you could just use the links without an account.

At any rate, I have submitted the route for the file library here, and it is available in the file library at trainsim.com now.

I was afraid of that. When I submitted it last night, the crossing guard icon was active for a long time, then the upload form page just reappeared. I didn't know if it completed.

As I discuss in this thread viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1358 , you can easily tell if an upload is successful or not by the message you get when the crossing signal disappears.

But I guess that's a bit redundant for you now since I've sent you FTP instructions.

Got it loaded, good job, well done with one or two minor scenery glitches but none to worry about, thanks.

A question or two - what loads would be taken up the 4% climb to the Stamp mill and what loads would be brought back.


I did spot two RailWorks glitches though (not a route problem).


First. I used a SW1500 to haul a few loads up the steep grade to the Stamp Mill unloader. I was tinkering with the throttle and found below 50%, I would decelerate but any throttle position higher than that and the speed stayed locked at 11MPH even though 50% could hold that speed. It appears to be a physics problem the way it was happening. I don't think it was slipping (I did look at the wheels).


Second one is strange. I had set the car brakes on a car (as a drag brake) and one time after dragging a few car lengths or two decided to release that brake. When I did, the train accelerated way too fast (the car was a GreatNortherner (sp?) coal gon but I don't think it's a car problem). I examined the wheelset (beautifully patterned on the inside of the wheel by the way) and saw that if the car was moving and I set the manual brake on the car, the wheel rotation speeds up! I stopped and the rotation stopped but if I start the manually braked car, the wheel spins much faster than track speed. I'm guessing that it actually is storing energy which might account for the unrealistic acceleration when I released the brake while in motion.

I haven't done more testing but perhaps someone else could experiment using other equipment to see if these are actual RailWorks problems or just equipment definition glitches.
