Soldier Summit Route

Just as a heads up to anyone who might not have seen it. One of the entries in the route building competition was Soldier Summit by our own Trainguy76. The route is available to dl at UKTS (I don't know if Trainguy76 has any plans to upload it here).

I downloaded the route. It is short but very well done.

The route is short because the rules of the 'Challenge' on UKTrainsim restricted the authors to 24 tiles built in one month using default objects and the scenery pack available from Steam. There are another 12 routes entered in the competition, and they are all worth a good look - amazing how much can be fitted into such a small space. I recommend Netherfield and The Granfield branch for particularly imaginative use of the space, with lots of operating potential.

Yes really hope it gets extended as what we have so far is tremendous. Also great that it gets exposure in the UK as I love having some US rail to travel along.

i drove over soldiers summit last week, saw 1 coal train 2 locos in the front 3 in the middle and 2 on the end, ill have to take a look at this

Just run up the length of V2 and it reslly is wonderful - long may progress on this route continue. A great companion for Tenessee Pass.

What he said. I'll add; I've driven the highway through Helper several times, in car and trucks. I've also ridden the California Zephyr over the route. It is a really nice, accurate representation of the division. I imagine that once the 'Default' restriction is off, and there can be other scenery items used it will be really nice.

Just had a run along your route, very nice indeed, a lot better now the Challenge has finished and you can concentrate in extending it. Being an ignorant Brit, I know the route is in Utah, but, what Railroad companies use it, common ones or, fallen flags, as I would like to obtain suitable locomotives and rolling stock to operate on it and make it look as authentic as I possibly can.

Mind you, I was considering doing a winter scenario and putting all my Chinese locomotives on it and see what they would look like traversing all those curves.....

Hi ex-railwayman,

I've seen Union Pacific, BNSF, and Utah Railway go on this line. I think BNSF is the least frequent on the line. Utah Railway uses the North-West yard at Helper, and UP uses the South-East yard.
