NEPA-FHPG-006_Timetable

By far the most extensive scenario I created. With 31 AI trains (not counting the 20 or so trains that are just scenery) in one scenario it was kind of interesting to see how RW3 reacts at times. Add an AI train at the West end of the route and an AI train on the East end of the route would suddenly fail. A consist (actually the one you start with) that consisted of 1 engine and some cars, suddenly became only 2 tanker cars and showed up in the timetable editor as a train with no destination set. The engine did not show the engineers head symbol anymore either.

With so many trains timing is everything and it took a lot of 'real-time' testing to make it look good. Using the async keys disrupted the timing, using the 'video controls' did not work either, as the AI seems to be slower than a person driving a train. But I prevailed and this master piece was born. Always wanted to say that

This is a timetabled scenario, another first for me, as I had not used that before. For those not familiar with it, it is like free roam, except with AI's. Actually all 31 trains are AI's, you can just take control of them. Click on the engine and you drive the train. This works for any train you can see that is AI (there are some stationary trains that have no designations). However to complete the mission successfully, you need to jump on the trains that are part of the main mission. The trains will leave even if you are not there as they are AI's!!!

Problem for RW_Tools is that there is no official player train, so it cannot create a work order. It actually throws some errors at you.

So here's the manual work order:

- Wait for NERW 1653 to arrive on the track next to the Tropicana cars, kiss your girlfriend goodbye before you leave *!lol!*
- Take NERW 1653 to Moeller Mills Siding 1 - Click on it to enter the engine
- Leave NERW 1653 (by using the 8 key) at siding 1 and enter NERW 2147 on siding 3
- Departure time for NERW 2147 is 06:41 AM
- Take NERW 2147 to Element Siding 9
- Leave NERW 2147 at siding 9 and take NERW 3822 from the team track at Elements to the CIP Team Track at Chandler. Departure: 07:13 AM
- Park the engines at CIP Team Track and the scenario will complete.

Hints:

- NERW 2147 is 2 tracks over from where you park NERW 1653 (clearly visible)
- NERW 3822 is all the way over to the right (almost at the main line) from where you park NERW 1653 (hiding behind other trains)

Running time about 90 minutes.
Difficulty: hard (I think, as you have to be on time for the next train and I did not allow for much play)

You don't have to worry much about the switches in the yards, as most are set correctly, because you drive an AI train. However you need to set the first switch for NERW 3822 when the incoming train has passed, as it will not set this one automagically

If you run late, you might not be able to complete the scenario, as other trains will take over your designated path. You will have to run maximum speed allowed almost all the time. If you speed too much you might find another train in your path, blocking your route, so keep it within the limits! There is a build in surprise along the way too for you, to keep you on your toes.

Uses only freeware NERW rolling stock types, including the latest and greatest commemoratives. No payware required. All stock available here: http://vnerrforums.com/nerw

FYI, if you have no engine sound for 2147 then you probably have Doc's (Machinist) NERW light enhancements installed. You can swap the engine or run silently. !!**sorry**!!

Load the RWP file through the package manager. ZIP file includes readme, rolling stock overview, images and RWP file.

Have fun!
