2 New Scenario Updates: PC on IIR. Now with Freeware Option

Unread postby GreatNortherner » Mon May 07, 2012 9:52 am

Hi,

This never ends!!! **!!bang!!** Here are two more of my old scenarios, updated for the latest TS2012 ready rolling stock. These are my two Penn Central runs on the IIR route -- Mine Run and Foundry Service -- both are a bit challenging switching scenarios. The Mine Run also got a revised work order that should now be easier to complete.

For both scenarios you also have an optional freeware only version now (included in the RWP), although that of course has a more generic look than the PC version. !*cheers*! to Tom P for reminding about that a while ago.

You can download them right now on my website, a file library upload will follow soon.

Have fun!

No, you don't. Freeware versions are included, as was clearly stated above.

Also, the payware needed for the payware versions isn't a lot, and is really excellent. The rolling stock from Golden Age is really top notch, and isn't just pretty. The mods make using them a more realistic experience.

If you installed the correct downloads, it installed two versions of the scenarios, both with the same names (Foundry Service and Mine Run), but one clearly marked with [freeware] after the names. Did you select those to run?

Perhaps you did as I did at first and incorrectly read the word "freeware" as "default". There's a whole bunch of freeware downloads you may need to get before you can run the freeware versions. You may run into a troubled wagon I couldn't find (I forget which one exactly, something about a dbl-door'd boxcar) but I swapped the two occurrences of that car with a different boxcar using RW_tools. Then both of the scenarios opened with the broken-consist error but were fixed with the "edit->close" trick. All's good after that. Good luck.

*!sad!* !*hp*! !**conf**!
This is quite strange. I just ran the scenarios through RW_Tools again and I'm fairly sure that I didn't forget to list any rolling stock items in the readme. There certainly isn't anything from Horseshoe curve in these scenarios, and the route is 100% freeware assets anyway.

Did you download the scenarios from the file library here (TS2012 section), or the recently uploaded files at trainsim.com, or my website? They are all identical. -- I'm not sure, however, if there may be some other outdated versions of this scenario still floating around on other places which I didn't upload myself. But if you got it from one of the three sources I just mentioned everything should work (in theory).

If the error persists, could you maybe post the exact wording of the error message? The missing "double door boxcar" is also weird, I only used the default 50' youngstown door PS-1 box from my basic kit, or the cars from the PC pack in the payware version. There shouldn't be any double door boxcars in the scenario. !**conf**!

Cheers,
Michael
