Hi Bernard,

Good to hear from you. Hope all is well. Yea... I've been looking at the load against the prototype pics, and the tiedowns really do stand out... especially given the size of the load. I think trying to get the cables to line up with the stake pockets would be like trying to corral a bunch of cats... lots of energy spent with minimal and or frustrating results. But, I'll try tying down one set of rings with cables and see how it looks. I'll just plant the ends a little into the deck. I do have a book on open car loads / dunnage in the steam and transition era. If I can find it (it's been a couple of moves since I last saw it), maybe there will be some alternative tie down methods in the book.

It's been sometime since I posted an update on this load, but I have been struggling to replicate the cabling tiedowns in the pics Harry supplied. So, after much experimentation and frustration, this is the best I can come up with at this time based on my current Blender modeling skills. It gets the illusion of tiedowns and captures that cross cabling as seen in the pics. I still have some cleanup to do before final unwrapping and texturing, but I think I'm going to start with this and see how it looks in sim. FYI... the floor will not be in the final load. It is just a reference for me.
