IIR (Industrial Interactive Route) Version Three!

Unread postby GreatNortherner » Thu Aug 11, 2011 11:56 am

Hi,

Version three of the IIR has just been released in the file library here at RWA.

I know back when v2 came out I said this would be the "final version", but there were some issues with v2 that still needed fixing (signaling, missing grade crossings), so I did a little update and expanded the route for another few miles while I was at it. V3 now also has a little harbor, where Captain Bazza's beautiful ships are docked, and the engineer (you!) can do a lot more switching of warehouses, coal and grain docks, and another small yard.

Also, as far as I know all old scenarios, including the ones by Doug Smith (see here: http://www.smittyslocomotiveshed.com/ ) still work without a problem.

!*cheers*!

Hey GreatNorthernor. Would you be also interested in repackaging your other routes as a RWP file as well.

Whenever I tried to install them with the automatic installer they never would appear in the game.

I believe if they were a RWP file type and install manually with the package manager that would fix that problem.

Oh boy. Downloading now. 1 minute left. One of my favorite places to visit. Shows how much enjoyment can be extracted from a small route. Half way through Doug's very fine scenarios on the previous version.

Update: Installed fine. No problem continuing with Doug;s scenarios either that I can see. Can see a lot of new details just glancing around. Looks like the main drag has an improved crossing. I was hitting and being hit by a lot of civilian traffic before. Haven't seen if the new gates are effective yet. Also have to check out the new harbor

Great route my scenario i wrote works fine after the update, I just uploaded my scenario for it.
Love the new additions and the fact that the cars now stop for the crossings. :)
Just one thing I noticed is that there is a smoke stack from the warehouse on the harbor dock that is right in the middle of the track. drove right through it. I fixed it on my computer no big deal.
Again great work and thanks

Sirs,

How does one remove the tower/smokestack thats sitting in the middle of the track in the wharf area. Other that that, this is one fantastic route.

Easy you go into the world editor and click on it, you will notice that it is part of the building it is in front of. So not to put the building in the street behind it you must put it on the other side of the track so the track goes between the stack and building

Hi,

Thanks for the kind words, and sorry for the smokestack on the rails. *!rolleyes!* *!embar*! **!!bang!!**
I hope I'll remember to include a little fix for this one when I upload the next scenarios for this route, or would this single-file patch be worth an extra upload?

Cheers,
Michael

I vote for the single-file patch unless there;s a new scenario coming soon. *!greengrin!*
