Miami P42 color correction / horn & bell update

Unread postby Sibell » Fri Feb 05, 2016 2:12 pm

Hey all,

because everybody needs a little break from some repaints ( and DTG's Dash 8 is making my head smoke like a steam engine sometimes !DUH! ) I decided to made a request for two of my friends and would lovely share it with this community here.

I've taken a look on DTG's Miami P42, and recognized that there where some mistakes about their colors and where they place them.
So I changed the color of the whole body, making the blue like I saw it on pictures in the sun, added dirt and smoke particles to the exhaust area, changed the color of the numbord...the logos, windows, handles background, added some weathering to the front and side, make the texture visible behind the power connectors...because they were blue on DTG's texture, changed one power connector shutter to the color they have had on their engines.

Finally I was confused after installing Fan Railer's physics ( @ OpenRailer: Yes...it is with physics *!greengrin!* ) and a horn/bell pack...I don't have had horn and bell sounds anymore.
After searching a little bit in the proxy's...I found the problem, changed it...added new sounds for the bell and the horn and I think it is very well sounded now.
( spend it a K5LA and the bell is from a Dash 8 I guess...if someone don't like it...change it !DUH! Credits for sounds belongs to Strategy First ! )

Then I decide to make 2 versions, one with dirt and weathering, and a clean one. Both repaints comes with crew and no crew versions.
Hope you like it and have fun. Will upload it today...so I think it will be in the libary after the weekend.

Kindly Sibell

Looks great, better than the original color! Do you think this colorscheme is more accurate than the EmpireBuilder version, and will it be capable of quilling if using TheAudioShack sounds?

Yes,she fixed it so it would be 100% accurate to a real P42DC.It's more accurate than the empire builder one.I've seen a real P42DC,and this one is closer to the real thing.
No,no TAS sounds,it has to be available to people without TAS sounds (which is a lot of people).Either way,it's easy to DIY.

I mean the .bin files are compatible with TAS sounds (The TAS bin files just add quill function with key N). Users that do now own the TAS sounds can still sound the horn normally, and the F59 horn proxy with quill can work with it as well.

That's what I meant.They aren't compatible.

Again a discussion about some stuff ???

OpenRailer, I don't buy any sounds from TAS...so I have no idea if this work with it.
And maybe before every post of a release is filled with questions like this one....send a pm to the creator and ask your questions on this way hm ?!

Well done, do you know how to replace the existing skin with this one? In the future it is a good idea to remove the engine sound files to reduce the file size.

Wow,I just finished doing that! Yes,I know, and it's pretty easy. And I'm guessing you have TAS sounds, that's also an easy and quick modification. !!*ok*!!
