"The Long Haul" scenario for Barstow route.

Unread postby LoneWolfDon » Mon Mar 21, 2011 10:42 am

Hello Drivers.
I have made a scenario, called "The Long Haul", for the Barstow to San Bernardino route.

You can download it for free either from the RailWorksAmerica Library in the Scenarios section:
http://railworksamerica.com/FileLibrary ... Page1.html
Many thanks to Ed (Hawk) for kindly adding my scenario to his Library here.

Or you can also get from my site in the Routes & Scenarios section over there:
http://www.rryard.com/

The scenario should work with default RailWorks installations, so nothing extra is required.

View the "ReadMe" file that comes with the pack for more detailed info.

Feedback welcome. If encountering any bugs, please give details.

Enjoy! :D
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Scenario Briefing: You'll be starting at Oro Grande and will first connect to a second engine. You will then proceed to pick up three loose consists of hoppers (the first consist is 5 green coal-hoppers that need to be loaded, the second consist is 10 fully loaded brown cement hoppers and the third consist is 10 fully loaded white cement hoppers) to make a complete train of 27 train-cars in length (counting the engines) then deliver them to your destination in San Bernardino.

Approximate level of difficulty is Hard.
Approximate time to complete is around 2 hours.

Have a good journey Driver. :)

But thank you for the scenario. !!*ok*!!

A length of 27 trains-cars is not long enough for ya? Hehehe.

Well, making this scenario was a bit of an "experiment" of sorts for me and to become more familiar with some of the default routes.

I was learning how to do a few new things in the editor, and trying a few things I've not done on scenarios before (such as having a scenario in which the player loads-up coal hoppers).

But, yeah, perhaps in some future scenario I'll give you guys a massively long train to play with. *!!wink!!*

Thanks for the scenario.

I ran the whole thing tonight. Lot's of fun. If the train was any longer it would need a lot more power. Lovely job.
Thanks !*salute*! !*brav*!
!*cheers*!

Ditto, it loaded and ran fine to completion. I'd call this a successful experiment!

I sure hope you'll put that knowledge to good use, so many great routes here just begging for scenarios for them, I'm envious of your ability. Nice work!

Yep. I'll post up more info about my other new scenario soon, "Castle Rock n Roll".

I was just giving it a day or two for beta-testing to see if people had any bugs with it.

But so far people that have tried it are reporting back that it all seems to be working okay without problems, so I'll soon set it as completed public-release version.
