ACL 100T Hopper

Unread postby harryadkins » Sat Mar 29, 2014 6:24 pm

This model is an Atlantic Coast Line reskin of the 100T Greenville hopper from the RWA Donationware Rolling Stock Package by Harry R. Adkins. The freeware base model can be downloaded at http://www.railworksamerica.com/index.p ... -avaialble .

NOTE: You must have the RWA Donationware Rolling Stock Package installed first. This reskin will not work without it.

I grew up along the old Atlantic Coast Line in Brundidge, Alabama. My memories include steady strings of rusty ACL hoppers positioned at the loading dock to receive iron ore for the steel mills in Birmingham. Once a hopper was loaded, the truck drivers would use a wedge-like device to start the car rolling. He would then rush to climb the car ladder and apply the hand brake when it was in the correct position about a quarter of a mile away.
