Skyscraper With Red Spot Light on top.

On my new skyscraper I plan to put the locator lights on top that would glow red, warning passing aircraft of the building at night.

How might I make the orb glow in the game using 3D Crafter Pro?

I want the orb to glow, but I want to make sure the rest of the building stays at a normal look.

Also, I would like to put spot lights at the base and on the roof to glow onto the building casting a light similar to the lights on the Empire State Building. How does one go about putting light child objects onto a building and having them cast a light onto it, preferably at night.

You can add the lights as children. I am not sure how to make the collision warning light fade slowly.

I was planing to make a tutorial for the first part for you but I was side tracked *!sad!*

I know how to make the red light glow, but it will glow even during the day and won't fade in and out unfortunately. It is done by setting it in it's own group and increasing the diffuse and ambient to produce a glow in Railworks 3 like a neon.

But still, want to put lights on it as well and a tutorial would defiantly help.

These will eventually be the Collision Warning Lights.
Usually a building like this would have about this number of lights at the top that would glow red. This building here rises about 53 stories into the air.

To turn it on only at night (automatically will fade in and out as time of day changes), set 1 to this blueprint in the light.bin:
<DayNightCycle d:type="bool">0</DayNightCycle>

Anyway it's not a bad idea let it on 24/7 that's like real life, and also "usefull" even during the day in a storm, overcast or cloudy weather. The problem (I guess) will be the LODs to make it visible from really far, 1 mile or more for example.

Good news.

I was right.

I did a test with the buildings and the orbs glow like I want at night and are hardly noticeable during the day.

If a pilot can't see these orbs he's probably blind and shouldn't be flying a airplane.

I have wanted to do this forever, makes a skyscraper look a ton more realistic.
