The scenario watch continues ... Hagen to Siegen

Unread postby OldProf » Wed May 09, 2012 4:25 pm

I just attempted "GR5-03 -- Coaljob", a scenario created by German Railworks for the Hagen to Siegen route. After driving for a while, the player has to pull into a siding to allow an Intercity passenger train to pass. About 10 seconds after the signal ahead turns green, the scenario comes to a (literally) crashing halt due to an AI collision. I didn't react quickly enough to capture a screenshot of the error message.

If memory serves, this is a payware scenario that I originally purchased for RS.

Hi,

If this is part of the old GermanRailroads products line, chances are that the scenario got broken with one of the route updates. Some of the GR stuff is pretty old now, and the Ha-Sie route has received at least one major update, as far as I know. Besides, I always found that for whatever reason, signal logic maybe, these two default German routes are incredibly hard for scenario design. Usually I can do whatever I want to do with the scenario editor, meets, passes, three-way meets, ..., -- but Hagen Siegen just drives me insane, so many inexplicable things going on (which, in all fairness, may be all my fault, caused by not understanding the signaling logic or something else specific to this route).

Cheers,
Michael
