Heavy Hauling New Download

Unread postby er6fwasakaik » Sun May 06, 2012 3:49 pm

I purchased this scenario a few days ago, it says in the brief about it, that its part of a 'mini' series, for Ohio 2. I can load the first scenario, but non of the others work. I admit I'm not the best person when it comes to computers. But I downloaded all of the item that were required, that I didn't have, or have tried to. By 'tried' to I mean, I downloaded the files from the locations I was told to go to.

But two item, which seem are a 'must' have, do not seem to be recognised by the Railworks program. They are both reskins, and rewrite the Default settings. One is a reskin of the SD40-2, and yes I have this loco from RCS. The other is a cylindrical hopper, which, I can't seem to find, on the Golden Age of Rail site. Both files are zipped and I have extracted them.

This is the Read Me file for the cylindrical hoppers: (hs-cylindrical-hopper_cn re-skin package for Kuju RailWorks

NOTE: this will replace Default painted hoppers.

And this is the Read Me file for the SD40-2: (BNSF SD40-2 8070 package for Kuju RailWorks

To install extract to a temporary location and run packagesetup.exe.
This package requires the Rail Simulator installed.
Note: this unit Does NOT have Auto Numbering

Each has an Application file, and two other files. In both cases these files are labled Scenario qqg and Scenario yyy Type QQQ File and YYY File respectively.

Each also has a Railworks Folder, with a number of other Folders inside, but non of them have anything in them.

Any help would be grateful. !*hp*! **!!bang!!** !**conf**!
And although I can so far only use the first scenario, I would like to get it up and running, as it looks like the kind of thing I'm interested in. Big consists.

After you unzipped the files, did you run the RW_Asset_Setup.exe?

First off, *&!welcome!&* oh 6 of 4. !!*ok*!!

Are these Doug's scenarios? (Heavy Chevy/ Smitty's locomotive shed) Are those QQQ and YYY what you really get as a file name? Or are you just masking them. I have never seen file names like that, ever. Suggest you delete the files, then download them again.

About the Package:
The RAR file you have downloaded contains two .rwp installation files:
RSS-Full Install-Hauling_Heavy_Freightv1.0
RSS-Default Install-Hauling_Heavy_Freightv1.0
The Full Install is the recommended version that you use. It requires that you have Railworks 3: Train Simulator 2012, the Allaboard Rails Route Ohio Steel 2: Dover to Massillon, and the Railworks BNSF Dash 9 Payware.
The Default Install is for customers who do not own the Railworks BNSF Dash 9 set, and wish to run the scenarios using the default locomotives included with Railworks.
Please note, that both installations can be installed side by side, so if you would like to re-run the scenarios using default locomotives, you can do so.
Installation:
Un-RAR the file you downloaded to a location on your hard drive. Open the Railworks 3: Train Simulator 2012 Launcher and click on the Package Manager Tab. On the right hand side, click on Install and in the pop up browser window, select the .rwp file you wish to install. Wait for it to complete the process, and repeat again if you choose to install the second .rwp included with the package.
Some additional freeware assets are required to run these scenarios. The names and download links are provided below. Each author has included a read me file with these assets, so ensure you read them before installing.

That's it! Once all installations are complete, you can find the scenarios under Drive By Route/Ohio Steel 2/Author RSS.
We hope you enjoy your scenarios

The items I didn't have, I got, well thought I had. Some I already had, the only ones I didn't have were the Reskins by Jessie James. But I followed the links and downloaded them. Once unzipped, each one has its own Folder. Inside each folder there is another folder called Railworks, with other folders inside, but they don't contain anything. Then there is a JPEG image and the above 'Read Me' file. The next file is RW-Assetsetup. Type Application. Then the two other files are called Scenario qqq Type QQQ file and Scenario yyy Type YYY file, they are 1KB and 3KB respectively.

This applies to both the RW FURX SD-40-2 7244-7268 and the RW cylindrical-hopper Re-Skin Pack 1. The Application files I can, and have Installed into RW, using the Windows 7 administration authority.

And I am told that they have been successfully installed into RW, but when I try and load the scenarios, I get a dialogue box with the options to 'Edit' or 'Exit', and the wording Consist Builder. can't load rail vehicle SD40-2 FRUX 7286 and 7244. I also get 'Cant load rail vehicle LO Cylindrical Coil CN 3 times.
And I have downloaded it three times, and the QQQ and YYY files are included each time.

The QQQ and YYY files are their actual names. Windows cannot open them. As I said, the Application files Install into RW using Admin privilages, and I get a report that they have been Installed.

It looks really good from what I've seen of it and really would like to get it up and running.

You can ignore the qqq and yyy files. I've noticed that since the 2012 update the RW_Asset_Setup doesn't always work properly. Look in your Railworks folder and see if there's another railworks folder inside that one. If there is I'll bet that your "missing" files are in that second railworks folder. Just move the second railworks' Assets folder into your main railworks folder.

I presume you do have the Ohio Steel 2 payware route, and the Dash 9 payware pack. OH2 is where the coil cars come from, and Dash 9 is needed for Jesse's repaints, which may or may not work with TS2012/ RW3. The Dash 2's are also payware, IIRC. Crap, I have so much stuff now, I just don't know what is default and what I bought. RSC must love me. !!*ok*!!

Just for the record, those QQQ and YYY files are created as part of any package made with RW_Tools. Their reason for being is known only to our beloved Great Australian Guru!

I don't recall if the Dash 2 is default or was DLC? But like I say, the coil cars are from Ohio Steel 2. I have never used any of Jessie Jame's stuff (there is some controversy about him) but it could be causing an issue with the coil cars.

At this point I would suggest contacting the creators, see if they can help out.

Well I've managed to locate the Locomotives. I did what Samwolf suggested, and it worked to a point, it found the locomotives, but not the 'Coil Wagons' and I still get a dialogue box when I try and upload any of the Scenarios except the first one.

And it seems I have another problem, lol. Boxcar 50ft-PS1 dbl-door?

If I choose the 'Edit' option, And look through the wagon inventory, I can find the LO Cylindrical Coil CN4, but when I try and place them, nothing happens. As for the Boxcar 50ft-PS1 dbl-door, that is the new problem. And I can't find them in the wagon inventory in the 'Edit' option.

Well I've found the 50ft PS1 Boxcar on the Golden Age of Rail and downloaded, but I can't find any mention of the LO Cylindrical Coil CN4 or anything that looks like them on the site. Yet the original link was for the Golden Age of Rail site. !*hp*

This is the new screenshot. http://i.imgur.com/F6H6C.jpg
