Trying to swap engines

Don:

I'm trying to swap the Santa Fe F7 you made for the engine in the Castle Rock Cement load to Castle Rock scenario but I seem to be having some trouble.
First I cloned the scenario and when I open TS2012 I can see my clone. I can also open it as if I were going to run it and everything looks ok.
Now am I supposed to be able to leave TS2012 open when I open RW_Tools? If so, I can't figure out how to do that since TS2012 opens "Full Screen" and there is no way to minimize it that I can see. Anyway, I closed TS2012 and opened RW_Tools following your tutorial video to try to swap the engine.
When I select the scenario I don't see anything in the "Consists" area as it is greyed out. The Scenario Details Area is filled in. Every option has information in it in that section.
I continued anyway and following your instructions found the engine in the folder Kuju/RailsimulatorUS/Railvehicles/diesels/F7/ATSF. Which I assume is your Santa Fe. If I stop at "diesels" and click "find available rolling stock" or go down to the F7 or ATSF folders I get the same thing. Nothing comes up in the available stock section. NOTHING!!!!
What am I doing wrong? I followed the video step by step. I know there must be something I am missing.
I have RW_Tools ver 3.0.66.

Don:

I just went on the RW_tools site and downloaded ver 3.0.69 and ran it and everything seems to be working.
I will let you know if the swap goes ok.

At least I can answer your question about leaving full screen. When in game you can hit the Alt + Tab keys. That will shrink the game down to your task bar then you can do whatever else you need to do. It will automatically pause the game. I do that sometimes and close the launcher window. Doesn't seem to hurt anything and frees up some memory. *!!wink!!*

Hey thanks Xdriver. I'm going to add that to my quick start guide.

Don: I got the engine changed, but when I bring up the list of scenarios it still lists the old engine type in the "class" not the F7. How do I change that to show the Santa Fe F7 as the "class"?

I just hit "Windows" keypress (between CTRL and ALT) to go to Windows desktop and then choose one of the RW_Tools windows opened.

That's an issue of RW_Tools when you swap locos, to get the correct swapped engine's name on scenarios list you have to save (do some movement with the camera and save, nothing else) the scenario in Scenario Editor after you edited it with RW_Tools.
BTW when swapping locos with RW_Tools uncheck the option "Don't change numbers when swapping stock" otherwise you'll get (in most of locos) double engine number or none number (well, at least with RW_Tools v3.0.66 I own yet).

Cheers,
Doc.

Doc:

I noticed the number issue. My F7 doesn't have any numbers. I'll remember that for the next time.
I'll try the other thing with the camera too and see what happens.
Thanks for the info.

For the numbers, swap again the F7 (with messed numbers) by the same F7 (now with the box unchecked) and it will work.
For the camera, what I meant is just to you do something different like roaming in the scenario so game will think you changed something, and then will ask you if you want to save the changes when you exit.

Doc:

Where in RW_Tools do I find the option "Don't change numbers when swapping stock"?
I don't know where to look for it.
